Nearby, visitors can discover the seasonal Lake Petelinje (a 9-minute drive / 40-minute walk) and other intermittent karst lakes, a rare natural phenomenon unique to the region. Pivka is also conveniently located for excursions to Postojna Cave (a 20-minute drive), Predjama Castle (a 30-minute drive), the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana and Summer refreshment by the sea and in the mountains.
