Visitors will be spoiled for choice when it comes to beaches. The main beach in the heart of Sarandë is lively and well-served with sunbeds, bars and restaurants close by. Further out of town you will find pristine beaches with turquoise sea, including Monastery Beach and and Mirror Beach. Butrint National Park (25 minutes) with its archaeological ruins is a must. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to abundant wildlife and birds, the park has important archaeological sites dating from the Bronze Age onwards. Close by are the Ksamil Islands. Here visitors can explore the islands by paddleboard or enjoy various watersports including jet-skiing, kayaking, water-skiing and scuba diving in the pristine water. For self-catering, there are several supermarkets within 5 minutes of the apartment. Saranda’s covered market on Rruga Jonianet (20-minute walk), is the best place to pick up fresh local produce to try at home. Corfu International Airport in Greece is the closest airport (approximately 2.5hrs), and involves a ferry from Corfu town to Sarande. Please note that there is a 1-hour time difference between Greece and Albania. Tirana international airport is a 3.5-hour drive.
