Set in its own private garden, this three-bedroom house is a lovely family base on Sardinia’s north-east coast, just minutes from sandy beaches and the boats to Tavolara Island. Life here centres on the terrace, tiled in terracotta and shaded by a timber and cane roof, where the dining table sits beside the masonry barbecue and deckchairs look out over the garden. Inside, a beamed ceiling rises over the living room, with a built-in corner sofa, a TV and a picture window onto the greenery, while an open-tread timber staircase climbs to the upper level. The kitchen is tucked beside the stairs with a hob, dishwasher, fridge and coffee machine, and a dining table with rush-seat chairs close at hand. Air conditioning cools the living room and bedrooms, a private washing machine lets you pack light and wash as you go, and a private parking space is yours for the stay. Sleeping Bedroom 1: A double bed sits beside a carved wooden wardrobe, and an ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 2: Tucked beneath a sloping beamed ceiling, this room has a double bed and a wardrobe. Bedroom 3: Two sets of timber bunk beds sleep four, and a glazed door opens directly onto the terrace. Bathroom Bathroom 1: The ensuite bathroom features a shower, a washbasin set into a tiled counter, a WC and a bidet. Bathroom 2: The second bathroom has a shower, a stone-topped washbasin, a WC and a bidet. Location Costa Corallina is a low-rise resort village gathered around its own small marina, on a stretch of coast that belongs to the Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area. The marina is a 7-minute walk from the house, and the sandy Costa Corallina beach is an 18-minute walk or a 3-minute drive. For a change of sand, Porto Istana beach is an 8-minute drive, and Porto Taverna beach is 9 minutes. Porto San Paolo is a 4-minute drive to the supermarket, and the boats for Tavolara Island leave from its pier, a 7-minute drive from the house. Il Farè, a Neapolitan pizzeria opposite the resort entrance, is a 20-minute walk. Further afield, Cala Brandinchi is a 16-minute drive, San Teodoro is 22 minutes, and the old town of Olbia along Corso Umberto I is 24 minutes. Porto Cervo on the Costa Smeralda is a 48-minute drive. Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is a 15-minute drive.
