Pietrasanta, Versilia's beloved little art town of galleries, sculpture-filled piazzas and refined restaurants, is just a 10-minute drive, and the sandy beaches of the Versilian coast, including glamorous Forte dei Marmi, are about 15 minutes away. Viareggio with its Liberty-style seafront promenade is a 25-minute drive, while the famous marble quarries of Carrara and the walled city of Lucca are each about 40 minutes from the door. For bigger days out, Pisa and its Leaning Tower are around 45 minutes away, the Cinque Terre about 1 hour 20 minutes, and Florence roughly 1.5 hours, so first-time visitors can tick off Tuscany's icons one easy drive at a time.
