There are several beach clubs, which suit different ages and interests. The town is a laid-back resort with a few clubs and many excellent restaurants which will suit all budgets and tastes. The city of Lecce is famous for its wonderful Baroque architecture as well as its Roman ruins. It is a jewel of a city and well worth a visit. Not only for its long history but also for its excellent food and good shopping. For a wide range of local produce, the twice-weekly market in Lecce (25 minutes) is a treasure trove of the finest regional produce from fish, vegetables and fruit to olive oil and cheese. The closest airport is at Brindisi - just over an hour away by car.
