A “furnieddhri” or “trulli” as it is also called, is a stone structure that is only found in Puglia. Whilst the exterior is rustic, the interior is comfortable and elegant. The room is light and airy with a pale stone floor. The double, four-poster bed is made of delicate wrought iron. The sofa converts into a comfortable double bed. There is a comfortable banquette, a flat-screen TV, large wardrobe and a glass, laptop-friendly workspace.
Bathroom
The beautiful bathroom, made of pale Ostuni stone, is equipped with a glass shower, bidet, basin and WC.
The suite has a private terrace, with a café-style table and chairs. It is ideal for guests who want to relax with a cup of coffee or a glass of excellent local wine. Alternatively, you can sit out in the shared gardens, under the shade of pine trees.

Location
The Relais Santa Maria del Morige is just 3.5km from the Ionian coast, which is blessed with some beautiful beaches such as Santa Maria Al Bango (7 minutes drive), Santa Caterina (12 minutes) and the marine reserve of Porto Selvaggio (22 minutes). The fine white sand, with gentle sloping shores, makes this coast particularly appealing for families with children.
Just 10 minutes away is the charming town of Nardo, with its Baroque squares and winding streets, which have yet to be overwhelmed by tourists. It is a food paradise and has many excellent restaurants serving fresh local food.
Further down the Ionian coast, the historic town of Gallipoli (15 minutes) is a very popular tourist destination during the summer months. In Greek, Gallipoli means “beautiful city” and the town does not disappoint. The town’s ancient walls soar over the harbour and fishing port. There are many excellent restaurants in the town, serving the freshest catch of the day. It makes a fascinating day out.
The closest airport is at Brindisi - just under an hour away by car.
