Some of the closest beaches to dip in the waters are Libera di Borgo Peri Beach and Koko Beach- both at a walking distance of 10 to 15 minutes. You can also cycle around the scattered hills behind Imperia which are perfect for exploration beyond the city life. Located on a hill overlooking Imperia, the historic Villa Grock is a few minutes walk from the apartment and is a fascinating place to visit. It offers a partial panoramic view of the city and the sea. For self-catering, many supermarkets offer a treasure of local food, which the guests can enjoy. Imperia is known for its orange and terracotta-coloured buildings which line the seafront. The promenade takes you past marinas full of yachts, both big and small, excellent restaurants and bars. Away from the coast, there is plenty to see and do, including numerous oil mills to visit. There are extensive cycle routes in the hills behind the city. Alternatively, for some real adventure, guests can try canyoning in the Ligurian Alps, starting from Triora (1 hour 30 minutes). For self-catering the Mercato Andrea Doria (Wednesday and Saturday) is a treasure trove of local produce, which you can then enjoy back home. Otherwise, there are many smaller shops and supermarkets within easy reach by car. The closest airport is Genova International Airport which is approximately 2 hours away.
