There is nothing religious about the Maribor Lent Festival in Slovenia!
The Lent Festival is one of the largest annual music and cultural Slovenia festival that takes place in Maribor. It typically runs for around two weeks, from late June to early July, during which the streets and squares of Maribor come alive with music, dance, theatre, and other cultural events.
What to expect in Maribor Lent Festival 2024?
The festival features a wide range of music, including jazz, classical, folk, and pop, as well as performances by theatre groups, dance troupes, and other artists.
In addition to the music and cultural events, the Lent Festival also includes a range of food and drink offerings, with vendors selling traditional Slovenian dishes and local wines. But this Lent Festival has to do with religion as the festival takes its name from the fact that many of the events are held along the banks of the Drava River, and riverbanks are known as "lent" in Slovenian!
