Looking for a venue to test your sailing
skills?
Join the Rolex Middle Sea Race, a challenging 606 nautical mile yacht race sailed anti-clockwise, commencing in Marsamxett Harbour, located north of the Grand Harbour in Valletta, Malta.
The racecourse takes participants northward along the eastern shores of Sicily, with the impressive Mt. Etna visible to the fleet's left as they approach the Straits of Messina. After navigating through the straits, the course leads north to the Aeolian Islands, where the active volcano of Stromboli marks a dramatic point of reference. From there, the yachts turn westward towards the Egadi Islands, passing between Marettimo and Favignana.
Heading south, they make their way towards Lampedusa Island while keeping Pantelleria to the port side. Finally, the race concludes in spectacular fashion as the yachts pass beneath Fort St Angelo and the Saluting Battery in Valletta, Malta.
The training schedule for the race includes the following key dates:
- October 18, 2024: Weather and Race briefing.
- October 19, 2024: The start of the thrilling Rolex Middle Sea Race, covering a challenging 606 nautical miles.
