Javea is among the most exciting destinations on the Costa Blanca. The port town offers a great mix of authentic old world charm and the facilities of a modern tourist destination. Alicante:

Alicante is a city full of adventure and a little over an hour drive by car and about two hours by public transport from Javea. Although in the Costa Blanca region the sand, sun and beach weigh over all other things, Alicante offers a number of things to do on a day trip. Taking to the harbour area on foot is most recommendable. You will come across pine trees and flower plants along your way. The alleys in Alicante are iconic and you will always remember your experience of taking a stroll there. The city envelopes its medieval roots as well as the modern developments in the most enchanting way. You can visit the Plaza of City Hall and enjoy the Blue Salon with wonderful mirror gallery or take your children to the Nativity Scene Museum. Otherwise, enjoy your evening at the huge Alicante theatre or checking into one of the various bars at Plaza Neuva Alicante. There are numerous churches, shopping options and historical buildings to keep you entertained and occupied all through the day.

Denia:

With about 20 kilometers of coastline and the Montgo National Park as its terrace, the beautiful town of Denia is difficult to cover in a day, but you would be at a great loss if you miss it. The town is full of unique historical places like the castle, church and the various museums to visit, a spellbinding landscape to behold and a variety of dishes to drool over. Denia is quite a happening destination because of the various fests and events that are organised here and also quiet and charming, thanks to its beautiful location and scenic points. The beaches are wonderful and there are a number of bars to sit and enjoy the enchanting ambiance of the place. Do not forget to visit the old town, the huge local markets, explore the Montgo National park on walking trails and walk along the beach to watch the beautiful Mediterranean. Denia is only 20 minutes away from Javea by car but the most interesting way and the highlight of the trip could be a ferry ride to Denia.

Benidorm:

Everything can wait, but not the Benidorm Wednesday market even if you have been to other markets on the Costa Blanca. It is the largest street market on the Costa Blanca which tempts you to shop for things even when you don’t really need them. The iconic Benidorm Palace is the next thing that you should tick off your list. However, if you are looking for some great dining and clubbing opportunity you will not be disappointed. Benidorm offers a great entertainment scene with a number of clubs to everyone’s delight. There are also dozens of good tapas bars scattered through the destination. Benidorm is less than an hour of drive from Javea. By public transport, however, it might take about two hours to reach the city from Javea.

Guadalest:

Guadalest is a happy change from other destinations on the Costa Blanca. Once accessible only on donkeys’ backs, the destination is now connected through long winding roads which make for a thrilling experience in itself. The surrounding mountains and the flowing river make the town quite a picturesque destination. Guadalest is a beautiful town perfect for a trip when you want to enjoy plenty of nature. The history of the town is preserved in the old style architecture of the place and the monuments which include the clock tower, old city wall and a very interesting museum of salt and pepper shakers. The place has been developed as a tourist destination with its gorgeous markets and museums that house unique sculptures.

Calpe:

Calpe, which is about half an hour drive by car and a little over an hour by train from Javea, is a special favourite of outdoor junkies. The destination is known to offer fantastic adventure opportunities such as water skiing, kayaking, paragliding and hiking trails. The natural beauty of the destination adds to its charm and attraction. During your visit to Calpe do not miss Penon de Ifach, a huge rock that climbs 332m out of the sea. The rock is a protected natural reserve. Numerous beautiful birds come to perch on this rock and conjure a stunning scene.  It is possible to climb the rock through the tunnel which is highly recommended to enjoy enchanting panoramic views. Some of the other things that you can’t miss here are the famous mud baths and the theme park.
