Here, visitors can discover the original medieval walls, historic buildings, and soak up the atmosphere or try the local cuisine at one of the many excellent restaurants in the town. The equally pretty town of Melendugno is also close by (an 8-minute drive). Here, every Wednesday morning, the town hosts a weekly market, which is the best place to find the freshest local produce, from olive oil and cheeses to honey and fruit. For those keen on further exploration, the picturesque towns of Otranto and Lecce provide more history and culture and are approximately a 25-minute drive.
