An Iconic Running Event by the Lake

StraLugano returns on 27–28 September 2025 for its 19th edition, offering a vibrant weekend of running, fitness, and fun in the heart of Lugano. With Lake Ceresio and the mountains as a backdrop, the event welcomes thousands of participants—from elite athletes to families and first-time runners—creating a dynamic atmosphere that blends sport with community spirit.

Races for All Ages and Abilities

The programme features a mix of competitive and non-competitive races. Saturday kicks off with the 10 km CityRun, a World Athletics-certified course ideal for runners seeking personal bests, and the 5 km FunRun for those looking for a more leisurely experience. On Sunday, runners can take on the Half Marathon or the Monte Brè Run, a scenic uphill challenge. For a true test, the StraCombinata combines both. The day also includes the family-friendly Run4Charity and the KidsRun, with age-appropriate distances from 600 m to 2,100 m.

What to Expect

The event is known for its well-organised logistics and supportive environment. Bib pick-up is at Palazzo dei Congressi, with showers, changing rooms, and luggage storage available to all participants. Aid stations are placed strategically across the courses, and finishers receive post-race refreshments. The Swiss Runners Ticket, included with registration, offers free public transport during the weekend, making it easy to explore Lugano before or after your race.

How to Join

Registration is open online until mid-September, with on-site entries available closer to the event. Entry fees range from CHF 15 for kids’ races to CHF 105 for the Half Marathon Relay. All races include official timing, a finisher’s medal, and access to facilities. The Run4Charity and KidsRun are especially welcoming, with low fees and a focus on participation over competition.
