An extraordinary ultramarathon through the Alps
The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) is one of the world’s most prestigious trail-running events, held every year in Chamonix at the foot of Mont Blanc. First organised in 2003, the legendary race covers around 174 km with nearly 10,000 metres of elevation gain, following the historic Tour du Mont-Blanc route through France, Italy, and Switzerland.
Runners must complete the demanding course within 46 hours and 45 minutes, crossing steep mountain passes, technical alpine trails, and changing mountain weather. Over the years, UTMB has grown into a full week of races, attracting thousands of runners from more than 100 countries and earning its reputation as one of the most challenging ultramarathons in the world.
