Amazing location and views! Seriously could not have better views of the lake, seconds away from the ferry and shops while tucked behind a private gate. Keep in mind there are really only 2 bedrooms while the 3rd is an extra musty smelling room but it was perfect for 3 adults and 1 child. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! The patio with the view of lake como is unbeatable

The only issue was no smart TV in the living room. Other than that it was magical! The owner was so accommodating and meet us at the property with a warm welcome. The location was perfect. The veranda was amazing with amazing views of Lake Como. The wear was perfect .Wish we had more days in Varenna. Highly recommend this property.

We were here for a week and loved the beautiful gardens and would absolutely stay here again. It was perfect for my husband and I. Very private and a fantastic first experience in Italy for us! It was difficult to move on from lovely Varenna. There are two small markets, however we only made coffee in the villa, choosing to dine out at the many restaurants in town. (Osteria Quatro Pass was our favorite) The host was flexible and allowed us to check in early. The entire experience was magical and perfect, the location more beautiful than photos. Highly recommend this for a couple or a small family. Grazie Mille Alessandro! A couple of things to note- The bed pillows were very hard, I will pack pillows from home next time. Some noise from the ferry if you're sensitive to that. (We did not mind this)

What more can I say other than WOW! The home was amazing. The perfect location with amazing views and gardens, situated between the port (short walk to the ferry) and the town center. Many sitting areas outdoors from which to choose. Perfect home for two couples. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Pefect stay. Best location: Lover's Path is at your door step, 5min to town and the ferry, amazing view of the lake. The villa was THE dream Lake Como experience. The elevator made moving the luggagwa much easier. Super convenient and well-equipped. The housekeeper was welcoming. Would love to stay again.

This place is amazing! The pictures truly don't do it justice. Every spot on the property is photo worthy. The private gate allows for direct access to the lake walk, making it a breeze to get to the ferry and restaurants. It added a touch of fun celebrity status too. The rooms were well appointed and having AC was a big bonus in the heat of an Italian summer. The host and housekeeper were extremely communicative and accommodating, which made the stay even more enjoyable. We can't recommend this place or the hosts enough. This property will definitely be my first choice if visiting Varenna again.

We have stayed in Varenna many times, but the first in this apartment. It must be the best place in Varenna, fantastic views, wonderful garden, easy access to ferry etc. The apartment has air con but even in the heat we didn’t need it, the rooms stayed pleasantly cool. Comfortable bed. The outside steps connecting the different floors and multiple keys described by others are not a problem!

The location, view, and the villa itself was fabulous. We found the accommodations very comfortable, enjoyed the garden, and the elevator was a great feature, especially when it was raining. It was a short walk to the ferry and train, mking it easy to get around and visit the other towns on Lake Como. It I had one suggestion, it be more and better bed pillows. We hope to visit again!!

A slice of heaven….4 adults were blessed to stay at Ca L’ivia at the beginning of October. We never tired of the jaw-dropping gorgeous view. Check in was easy and the owner and housekeeper were wonderful. We had everything we needed to eat in, which we did every day for breakfast. The elevator takes you from the street to the bedrooms, cucina and salon. The garden gate brings you directly on to the lover’s walk with a short trip to either the ferry in one direction or the piazza in the other. We were the envy of others who watched us enter and exit our “private gate.” As we sadly left Varenna, we took with us warm wonderful memories of our time at the villa and the most wonderful people we met during our week.

Fantastic place! The location is perfect, a short walk to restaurants etc but quiet and private, behind a locked gate. View was stunning as we were overlooking lake Como. There’s three levels so are stairs but also an elevator so no mobility problems for me, despite a recent foot surgery. The housekeeper doesn’t speak much English so we just used Google translate. She was very responsive and nice. Bedrooms have private bathrooms which were very clean.

The villa was absolutely stunning, yet it felt like home. We were greeted, twice, by housekeeper and then the owner, and their love and care for the villa was obvious. Every day, it felt special to wake up, live in, and come home to that space. We loved all of our first Italian vacation, but our days in Varenna were the highlight, and the villa’s beauty and comfort made it so.

Waking up to such a stunning landscape was a highlight of our trip. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed for cooking, modern appliances, and plenty of space. It made meal prep enjoyable, especially with the local markets nearby offering fresh ingredients. The host and staff were awesome—friendly, attentive, and always available to help with any request. My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the villa. The entrance from the main top level was awesome with amazing views. It had an elevator to bring your luggage down. Bedrooms on the main level with views from each bedroom. Kitchen level with living room and balcony with dining table and fantastic views, gorgeous. And the lower level leading out to the Gate onto the Promenade was also amazing. It was actually secluded with beautiful trees so you could have as much privacy or as little privacy as you would like. You’ll definitely feel like a celebrity looking out over the lake watching the people go by. So many amazing restaurants, a small grocery store and walking distance and two small beaches. I recommend getting a private water taxi and exploring Lake Como definitely will stay here again if we come back to Verna next year do not hesitate. it’s well worth the money. Everything you needed in the kitchen to cook, fantastic meals, and alfresco.

The perfect location and views cannot be beat! Extremely central to everything and beyond beautiful! Two of the most beautiful decks from which to enjoy the heavenly lake views. Direct, gated access to the lakeside walkway that connects everything is a real plus. Excellent communication with hosts made for seamless check-in and checkout. Grazie mille :)

Villa Lucia was an incredible property we had the pleasure to stay at. Host met us at the property, explained everything, answered our questions. It is very accessible to the train station and just steps from the ferry. Also just a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. The views from the terrace and balconies were unforgettable. The entire property is well appointed, beds were very comfortable as well. Definitely book this property if you want to treat yourself, it is worth it!

We’d visited Varenna 6 years back and had wanted to stay at Villa Lucia ever since but Covid and other issues got in the way. We finally made it back and spent 4 incredible nights there. The house is stunning, the amenities are fantastic for cooking a few pasta dinners while eating out on the decks. The support staff is incredibly communicative and Alessandro was a pleasure to partner with regarding any questions we had. There was a train strike the morning we were to leave and the house keeper’s daughter and husband offered to drive us to our next location in Switzerland for a small fee. This is a top notch service and created a great deal of goodwill for us!

Absolutely Amazing. The villa is in an excellent position. The lake and city can get quite busy but you will feel a world away here, so private and secluded. Watching the ferry all day and having restaurants on your doorstep. We actually had dinner at the villa because no restaurant would have a better view. You will feel like a celebrity here. The host was amazing with a thorough tour in check in. If you're looking to stay in Lake Como, stop looking and book this.

Great location with stunning views. Nice well equipped kitchen and loads of space for up to 6 people. Everything was clean and as described. As other people have said the layout is a bit unusual - there’s two bedrooms upstairs and you have to go outside to get down to the living area and outside again to get to the last bedroom but completely worth it for the views. The hosts were prompt to respond and friendly. Check in was slightly confusing just because there kept being a keybox mentioned but actually it was arranged via phone in the end but we didn’t have any issues.

We feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay in this special and unique property. Arriving early after an overnight flight, Alessandro was willing to allow us to store our bags until check in, and then actually ended up letting us check in early when the villa was ready earlier than expected. The accommodations were incredibly comfortable and clean, and the views were spectacular. The location is so convenient - two minutes walk from the center of the town, but tucked away in a magical garden for privacy and peace. A wonderful stay!

Absolutely stunning views from this villa! We could not get over the sunset and the cute garden. Amazing location! Close to town and ferry. One minute to delicious gelato. Loved staying in Varenna. We only really used the bedrooms because we ate out the whole time. Bathrooms a little musty and it’s not a luxury feel but a cute cottage feel. But can’t beat the setting!

We loved the location of villa Lucia. It’s nice that the house is air conditioned and the internet is really good. Most of our time was spent on the patio overlooking Lake Como while enjoying a Lemoncello Spritz. There are a lot of keys involved with this house due to the multiple levels of the house. Any time we had a problem (only twice), Alessandro the house manager was there to take care of the minor problem.

We had best experience at this villa in Varenna for my fathers birthday! 🥳 Alessandro met us at check-in and explained everything! The villa has an elevator which is very helpful for carrying your bags down to the multi floor home perched on the Varenna cliff. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Varenna and be close to everything, walking distance to all Varenna has to offer (ferry, restaurants, stores etc.)! The garden & views are breathtaking from every window, can’t wait to stay again. Grazie 🙏

Beautiful villa - closed to ferry and all restaurants in Varenna. Elevator is a plus for bringing down luggages. There are 2 main bedrooms and a third one which has sofa bed but with a toilette outside the room in the garden without shower (as described) so the villa will fit 4 adults more comfortably than 6. However we do love the location and the view. Alessandro who owns the villa was there to welcome us during check in making the process very easy. Overall we love our stay there.

We really loved Alessandro’s villa and hope to come back again someday! The location was AMAZING and the views off the balconies were incredible!! It was so easy to walk around everywhere and it’s less than a 5 minute walk to the ferry. We didn’t realize that you had to go outside every time you go to a different floor of the villa. It wasn’t a problem and added to the charm for us. It was so fun to meet Alessandro and he was so nice snd helpful! Highly recommend!!

Our first visit to Italy and we did cover lots of places in the last three weeks - Lake Como has been among the most memorable of these and much of it comes from the amazing stay that we have had in this extremely beautiful setting. If looking for an accomodation at Varenna, it has to be this !! We are so pleased that we went for it. Excellent location - well connected with the train station, ferry AND right at the lake .. with beautiful views. You are right there where the action is without it being noisy at all. The house does span to three levels but that extends more advantages. And there is a lift too. We communicated with Alessandro and he is a thorough gentleman.

One quick comment that isn’t fully clear from descriptions is that each floor (bedrooms, main area and bottom) are not connected internally so you need to go outside and there are different keys etc. wasn’t a big deal at all but was a surprise. Other than that would totally recommend!

The Villa was very clean and comfortable. The views and the gardens where even more impressive and extensive than we imagined. The villa is right off the walkway to the center of town and the ferry so the location could not have been better. The negatives where that even with the extensive directions that where send, it is a bit difficult to find because its just a gate off the street. We had to go up and down the road a couple of times to find it. No big deal, just a bit stressful after travelling all day. Also, it smelled a bit musty, but I'm sure old stone buildings will be this way. We opened the doors up and this helped. Overall, we where thrilled and thoughly enjoyed our time at this unique villa. We all agreed this was the best part of our trip!!!!

Absolutely stunning Villa and fantastic location. The gardens are beautiful and allow direct access to the footpath running alongside the lake. The top entrance makes local shops more accessible and the ferry is a very short walk away. The host gave a very informative tour of the property and was easily contactable while we were there. We were delayed in arriving and the host still waited for our arrival. This villa made our stay in Varenna magical with amazing views from all of the outdoor space, living room/kitchen and bedrooms. The villa and it’s location exceeded our expectations. Thank you

The Villa is centrally located and close to restaurants, cafes and the ferry. Once we parked our car we didn’t need to use it again as everything was in close walking distance.

We stayed with my family with 3 children for a short stay in July. The location of this property could not be any better, easy walk to everything we needed. The balconies had spectacular lake views and the kids loved exploring in the outdoor area and path. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was equipped enough to prepare light meals & breakfast for kids. Fyi the stairs between the bedrooms and living room/kitchen are outside which I didn’t understand from the listing, but it wasn’t a problem in the end;) The owner had great communication and responded quickly to all my texts. Honestly I wish we could have stayed longer and if I return to Como I will definitely rent this place again!!!

What a gorgeous property! You know when you see villas with outstanding views and private gated entrances, and you wonder who lives there? YOU. You can live there, at least for a few nights. This house was exceptional and such an incredible place to relax while feeling like an absolute queen. My husband is still reeling from the reality that our everyday lives don’t have the beautiful terraces and gardens of this property, and I can’t say he’s alone in wishing we could be back in Varenna at this enchanting home.

Wow! Just wow. This property was amazing. Easy to find, easy access to town and the water, and views for days. 180 degree view of Lake Como from all 4 levels! Five star property - just book it! From the minute we got onto the property, we were in love - this villa is spectacular! You have multiple outdoor spaces to enjoy all the views. Rooftop deck has an elevator down to the sleeping level, and stairs down to the family room/kitchen and even a lower level we didn’t use! Note: you have to go outside to get from the bedrooms to the living level (I missed this when booking but wouldn’t have changed my mind). Walk out through the garden and you have gated access to the Varenna water, ferry and waterfront - go up the top exit and you can easily walk to the town square. We will be back. Thank you to Alessandro for an amazing visit to his family’s home!

Alessandro’s property was such a perfect stay for our first visit to lake como. the views are unreal and the location is so convenient. the walk from the train station and ferry made it a breeze to get to. we would spend most of the day adventuring around the lake and unwinding with some wine while watching the sunset from the balcony at the villa was a special experience. We loved every piece of this visit. Unique, interesting, comfortable, beautiful views, private, amazing location, incredibly well stocked kitchen. We went slightly off season so the garden was not completely grown in but I imagine it is quite spectacular. The bedrooms were not the highlight but worker very well for our family of four. We spent most of our trip on the balcony, watching the ferry come and go and enjoying the sun move over the lake. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is. It is a 2 minute walk to Veranna and 1 minute to the ferry. The location is amazing. The grounds are amazing beyond belief. The deck is perfect for eating meals or enjoying a glass of wine. The views cannot be done justice by the pictures. It was very comfortable, with nice AC, fast internet and good hot water. Our host Alessandro was incredibly nice, helpful, and responsive. Will definitely stay here again.

In the heart of the golden triangle of Lake Como - Varenna Bellagio and Mennagio, the villa is a few minutes walk to the ferry stop and in the other direction to town. It’s 10 min walk to train which you do not hear from the villa. The photos are accurate and will amaze when you arrive. The owner greeted us and spent an hour with us walking around explaining the property and it’s history. He truely cared about us having a wonderful stay. Fresh flowers and amenities made our initial night of settling in great also. Varenna has easy access to skiing 2 hours north and 1 hr south on the train you can be in the heart of Milan so it was a great place to explore from. The villa is quiet and private so you can escape the restaurant noises and busy crowds. You will hear the ferry if doors are open but that start at 7am and finishes in the early evening and didn’t bother us at all. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked many meals and ate on the terrace at sunset - magic. Great for our family of 4 with conftabke beds lounge and a great loft above the kitchen for the kids to hang out. We will be back to stay again.

This is an extraordinary, three story villa with a beautiful garden overlooking lake Como. Each of the floors has a breathtaking view of the lake. And each boasts gorgeous carrara marble bathrooms. Even the laundry room is beautifully finished in marble. The main floor living area is an open floor plan with a kitchen and breakfast area, as well as a huge walk out terrace with table,  suitable for formal meals. The home is beautifully decorated. Everything looks fresh and new, including the linens. The villa abuts the lakeside rock cliff, and has a private elevator, as well as stairs, take you to each floor. The owner met us on arrival, and told us about the history of his family home. A private parking space is provided--a very important in any small Italian town. Dining, shops, ferries and trains are short walks from the villa.

April 2018 In the heart of the golden triangle of Lake Como - Varenna Bellagio and Mennagio, the villa is a few minutes walk to the ferry stop and in the other direction to town. It’s 10 min walk to train which you do not hear from the villa. The photos are accurate and will amaze when you arrive. The owner greeted us and spent an hour with us walking around explaining the property and it’s history. He truely cared about us having a wonderful stay. Fresh flowers and amenities made our initial night of settling in great also. Varenna has easy access to skiing 2 hours north and 1 hr south on the train you can be in the heart of Milan so it was a great place to explore from. The villa is quiet and private so you can escape the restaurant noises and busy crowds. You will hear the ferry if doors are open but that start at 7am and finishes in the early evening and didn’t bother us at all. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked many meals and ate on the terrace at sunset - magic. Great for our family of 4 with conftabke beds lounge and a great loft above the kitchen for the kids to hang out. We will be back to stay again. Simone, Australia

November 2017 This is an extraordinary, three story villa with a beautiful garden overlooking lake Como. Each of the floors has a breathtaking view of the lake. And each boasts gorgeous carrara marble bathrooms. Even the laundry room is beautifully finished in marble. The main floor living area is an open floor plan with a kitchen and breakfast area, as well as a huge walk out terrace with table,  suitable for formal meals. The home is beautifully decorated. Everything looks fresh and new, including the linens. The villa abuts the lakeside rock cliff, and has a private elevator, as well as stairs, take you to each floor. The owner met us on arrival, and told us about the history of his family home. A private parking space is provided--a very important in any small Italian town. Dining, shops, ferries and trains are short walks from the villa. Linda, USA

October 2016 This is without a doubt the best place that you can stay to see Lake Como. Varenna is the best town to be in since it is less commercial and is easy to get around in and to catch ferries. The villa is a bargain for what you get; roomy, convenient, beautifully done from the decor to the retractable awnings. We sat on the patio nightly and enjoyed our Bellinis as we watched the sunset over the lake before strolling to dinner. The private entrance onto the walkway is perfectly located between the main town and ferry docks. I would come back every year if I could. Paul, USA

This villa felt more like a private retreat, with magnificent views of Lake Como. The house itself is beautiful, and the gardens are truly intriguing, adding to its charm. With a little more tender loving care and some thoughtful essentials—like bottled water and soap—it would feel even more welcoming. The location, however, is absolutely wonderful and makes the stay memorable.

This villa is in the best location in Varenna. Close to the train station and ferry dock, and also within walking distance of the center of town, restaurants, and shopping. The views are absolutely amazing.

Great views. Rooms comfy. Street level entrance and a walking path entrance that is close to town and Ferry. Lucca was awesome. Location perfect and views are spectacular. Comfortable, clean and was perfect for sipping wine and watching the sun set over Lake Cumo.

We stayed a week and would book this property again without hesitation. During our stay, we were provided with soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush, laundry soap, dish soap, sponge, trash bags, toilet paper, coffee pods for a few days, and salt. The villa lacked spices, cooking oils, paper towels, and drinking water, so a trip to the market upon arrival was necessary. There were only 4 wine glasses, and no beach towels. These are basic items that would have made this a top notch experience. (Hence 4 stars instead of 5) The views are stunning, location is perfectly situated, bedding luxurious and comfortable, water pressure is fantastic, extremely quiet at night, and the staff were wonderful and prompt to solve/answer any issues that came up. (5 stars) The elevator came in handy during the days it rained, so that we could stay dry moving about between the kitchen and bedroom floor.

We have just had a lovely week stay at this Beautiful Viila. From the rooftop road private entrance you take the elevator to the various levels of the villa. Which is very handy for those who find narrow stairs challenging. The two egg chairs are a lovely feature to have a birds eye view of the lake. The first floor is where the two separate bedrooms are with bathrooms, and beds are very comfortable each with a balcony that wraps around this level. Ground level is where the kitchen and living room are situated. The kitchen is well equipt with every utensil required. It is modern and served us perfectly. The very large balcony with table and chairs was a great location to dine or just sit and soak up the atmosphere watching the ferries zigzag the lake. The lower level is another room with sofa bed and the laundry. Then a few steps down your private entance to the promenade that leads to the ferry stop and the town centre in 2 minutes walk. The location is perfect. Easy to take the ferry to the very near Belaggio and Menaggio or the fast ferry to Como in 45 mins. The villa is a beautifully appointed and very classy. I would recommend Villa Lucia to anyone with a party of 5-6 people. You will love it.

We have just completed a 5 night rental of Villa Lucia. We had a lovely time and the Villa is fantastic in all respects. We loved meeting Alessandro when we arrived, but I think it should be made clear that one arrives at the top gate to the house (by the roof) and then you buzz to let someone know you are up there. We didn't see the buzzer at first and were standing on a very narrow sidewalk with luggage and a toddler for at least 5 minutes before we figured out what to do. Alessandro was lovely and gave us a LOT of information but it was hard to take it all in. A booklet in English should be in the house detailing all of the directions for air-conditioning, putting up and down the shades on the deck, keys (quite a lot of them and somewhat complicated), etc. We LOVED Varenna. What a great little village. We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the terrace of La Vista and some simple breakfasts and pizza at Il Molo also morning coffee at Cafe Varenna on the little harbor. Without a toddler along :), we'd have tried some other nice smaller restaurants but decided to pass this time. The ferries were a great way to see the lake and we enjoyed going to Villa Carlotta, the lido in Menaggio, Bellagio and the park at the tip of the peninsula and a walk up to the castle. We loved our stay and I hope this feedback will be helpful.

We have had a wonderful stay and have a taxi picking us up at 12:15p tomorrow, June 20. We very much enjoyed the sunset from the rooftop terrace! Please tell the cleaning staff to take any extra food we leave behind as there are several unopened food items left on the table and refrigerator. Thanks form making our stay in Varenna most comfortable and memorable.

Villa Lucia is a real gem. A beautiful villa, tastefully and comfortably furnished and ideal for a family or group of up to six people. The living room is very cozy and has a stone wall for a unique atmosphere and patio doors leading to a terrace with a truly enchanting view over the lake. The open kitchen is modern and offers all possibilities to prepare delicious meals. There is a dining table with six chairs for a shared meal. There are three bedrooms, one bedroom has a double bed, the second bedroom has two single beds which can be pushed together if desired and the third bedroom is in the attic floor and has a comfortable sofabed for two persons. All bedrooms have a view on the lake. This house is very well equipped as there is WIFI, flat screen TV, BBQ, comfortable furniture and two lovely rocking chairs to enjoy the beautiful views. Parking is available for our guests. A top property in a prime location.

We are absolutely loving the villa. It could not be in a better location and my family loves the views. On the morning of the 30th I believe we will be heading out around 10am After seeing how amazing the house is I know my family definitely wants to come back. Thank you again for everything!

We were looking for a nice place on Lake Como to stay for the week whilst we went skiing in Piani di Bobbio. We fell in love with Villa Lucia Varenna because it offered us the perfect luxury decor and comfort PLUS had an ambience of a 5* ski chalet!! Such perfection! My family and I had a GREAT vacation this month on Lake Como. We stayed in a luxury lakeside holiday rental in Varenna called Villa Lucia Venere. It was such a beautiful place! It was totally unique - it offered us a great mix of the luxury, romantic and the charming..Hotels just don't do it for us anymore!! Thanks a million!

AMAZING! Our holiday villa was so much fun to stay in! It was distinctive in its style and offered our group a really luxurious holiday retreat to enjoy for the week, plus its location on the central lake was just perfect for us to reach everything. The villa's living area was simply stunning with romantic exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and a log burning stove which im sure would be SO cosy in winter time! We had direct lake views from all the principal rooms and had the best times wining, dining and entertaining during our stay. The rooms were all so comfortable and stylish and it really felt more like a sumptuous home than a holiday rental!! The HHH team were brilliant at recommending restaurants, attractions and activities to us. Lake Como was a fabulous place. We all want to book our next flights asap! Thank you!
