Beyond the Cannes Film Festival, the French Riviera is home to yet another iconic festival for over 70 years!

Held every year in July, the Nice Jazz Festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious jazz festivals in Europe, known for its rich history and diverse lineup of renowned jazz artists. The festival was first established in 1948, making it one of the first jazz festivals in the world. It has since grown in popularity and attracts jazz enthusiasts from around the globe. The event takes place in various venues across Nice, including the beautiful open-air amphitheatre Théâtre de Verdure.

Over the years, the festival has hosted performances by legendary jazz musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, and Miles Davis, among many others. In addition to jazz, the festival also incorporates other genres of music, including blues, soul, funk, and world music, and is typically held over several days, featuring multiple stages and a vibrant atmosphere.
