Villa Schlosser was everything we hoped it would be. The location is stunning and so well placed to walk into the old town for beautiful restaurants, shops and bars. The ferry to Limone was almost on the doorstep. We stayed for the last week of October and the villa was warm and welcoming as was our lovely host Ana who was waiting for us when we arrived to show us around and was also always available to message with any queries. She recommended some great places to eat. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay in Malcesine and Villa Schlosser. We have made so many magical memories with our family at Villa Schlosser. We would love to return one day.

We had wonderful stay in Malcesine. The villa nested in a very convenient water front location, walking to everywhere. Not to mention the beautiful views from all rooms, the hidden swimming pool overlooking at the lake and mountain is soooo enjoyable to even just lying on the bean bags by the pool, bathing in the sun with a little breeze….. lovely place!

Amazing historic villa in Malcesine. Quiet and private. Big, private garden and private pool. Close to the city center, walking distance. Expensive, but in our opinion totally worth the prize. Easy communication. No problem with use of kitchen and furniture. The furniture is covered, but no problem for us. Really recommend this place. Room for 6 adults .

It was a privilege to stay at this beautiful villa in Malcesine and the outdoor pool was a bonus. The villa is in a prime location directly by Lake Garda with bars, restaurants and boat taxis within easy reach. The town of Malcesine is an easy 10 minute stroll away. We stayed at Villa Schlosser due to a recommendation from friends who had holidayed there last year and we where not disappointed, it was stunning inside and out. Sofia kept in touch with arrival and departure details and was accommodating when we asked if we could leave our luggage for a couple of hours after checkout. We would love to return

Location location location. It doesn’t get better than this! Just look through the other reviews to know what to expect with keeping the history intact, it’s a beautiful antique villa with some of the best views in Lago di Garda! Everything was walkable, and they had all the necessities to make our entire family, including our one year old daughter, feel comfortable and welcome. Just make sure you double check where the entrance is so you don’t get surprised with the pedestrian walk!

Location was fabulous. The villa was exceptional. The pool and garden were extremely well equipped for a very relaxed stay. If there is a better view from a garage, we'd be amazed.

We had an amazing stay and did not want to leave. We stayed as a family, 2 adults and 3 teens. The villa is stunning and location is absolutely perfect. It’s just a few minutes walk into the town, close to restaurants and shops yet directly on the lake. The views are jaw droppingly beautiful. The house has lots of antique furniture so you need to adapt to seeing signs around the place asking you to be careful with certain pieces but that didn’t bother us at all. The kids swam in the pool and the lake, we rode the bikes (available for use) around the lake. There is a ferry drop off/collection point just a few metres from the villa and we very easily took the ferry over to Limone (highly recommend). We loved Malcesine itself. Beautiful restaurants, bars, shops. And it felt a little less busy than some of the other towns on the lake which made it perfect for our stay. Sofia was very thoughtful, even having Easter eggs ready for the kids on our arrival. We will definitely be back!

Sofia's house is amazing & the position is fantastic, it is right on the lake & a very short walk from the town which is beautiful. We loved the bikes & cycled for miles in both directions on the waterfront cycle paths. Sofia & Matteo were very helpful & were both there to meet us when we arrived. Sofia gave us a gift of Colomba pasquale (Italian Easter cake) when we arrived which was delicious & then sent us on our way with a bottle of local Limoncello when we left. We could not have asked for more & will defiantly be back.

Absolutely stunning location that is private with lots of outdoor space to enjoy the peaceful views. Easy and lovely walk to all of Malcesine’s attractions, restaurants and shops. Ferry is steps away from the property. Lake with small pebble beach out front is perfect for swimming. Beautiful villa that has a museum like quality. Many pieces of furniture are covered and not to be touched by guests. The downstairs double bedroom does NOT have a door and is next to the kitchen. Can be a challenge for a full house with different schedules. Driving on the seafront walkway to enter/exit the garage is challenging at busy times with pedestrians not happy with a car being on the walkway. Enma from Happy Rentals was friendly, available and accommodating and made the experience wonderful. Would highly recommended and stay again.

Die Villa war wie beschrieben. Tolle Lage, super Garten. Man kann sich hier super auf dem Grundstück verteilen. Von innen sieht alles aus wie auf den Fotos, die Sofas, das Klavier und die Kommoden sind aber alle mit Schutzbezügen überzogen (würde ich vermutlich aber auch mache. Wenn es mein Eigentum wäre). Die Villa ist in einem super Zustand. Wichtiger Hinweis, war für uns nicht direkt durch die Fotos zu erkennen (aber auch nicht wirklich problematisch), das zweite Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett im Erdgeschoss ist “nur” durch einen Vorhang zu verschließen, es hat also keine Türe. Da sich aber im Sommer das Leben draußen abspielt, ist das nicht wirklich ein Problem mit der Privatsphäre wenn man mit 6 Personen im Haus ist. Sollten wir noch mal in der selben Zusammensetzung a den Gardasee kommen, wir würden es wieder buchen. Einen Extralob möchte ich hier auch noch mal an Emna von Happy Rentals aussprechen. Sie war super hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar.

The house and location is truly beautiful as is the town that you can easily walk into. Sophia and her team were really helpful and very responsive . The garage does have room for two cars, but the roof height is quite low and access to the garage is effectively driving alone the seawall, which can be very restricting if you have a minibus vehicle as we did.

Villa Schlosser is an exceptional accommodation. Very spacious internal space with the most amazing outside area. with breathtaking views. The villa was clean, with a well-stocked kitchen. Although no air conditioning, we were kept cool with the fans provided in the bedrooms. Only one of the bedrooms had a wardrobe, however there were plenty of drawers and other shared space to store clothes. The villa has lots of antique furniture, some of which is not for Airbnb users, but these are clearly marked. As you step outside the villa’s garden, it leads directly to the lake which we swam in every day. The path takes you to the beautiful village of Malcesine with a 10-minute leisurely walk. The ferry stop is only a few minutes walk away from the villa. Communication was always prompt, with check in and out being well organized. Would certainly recommend Villa Schlosser not only for the accommodation, but it’s spectacular location, views, and amazing outdoor areas.

The previous two reviews from Mike and Fiona sum up what I would have said. We have already booked our return for next year. The large garden offers lots of shaded seating options overlooking the lake. The garden is slightly raised so guests have complete privacy from the lovely promenade below while still close enough to hear the lapping of the water on the shoreline. Our three children (16+) could access all the amenities of Malcesine via a short walk along the promenade so there was no driving necessary. Heavenly. In addition we were well looked after; Francesco was very helpful and responsive.

Unless your last name is Clooney it is highly likely that this villa will be the best lakeside villa that you will have stayed in. The decor and vantage point are superb and it’s a very short walk to the town centre. It’s a very old villa so the room layout is, let’s say, idiosyncratic but this should not detract from the magnificence of the setting, the gardens and the splendour. Highly recommended, I’ll be returning.

Beautiful, historic property. Perfectly located with outstanding views. Only negative was that the furniture was of such a high, historic quality that we were unable to use most of it. Unfortunately the bath was out of commission. Gardens were out of this world. Host’s were incredibly responsive and helpful. We asked if there was an iron (there wasn’t) and one was delivered less than 24 hours later. Would recommend for considerate visitors.

The beauty of this villa can not be captured in photos. It’s a historic site (probably not well suited for families with toddlers due to the abundance of antiques). For our group it was perfect. The property is breathtaking and the villa is well maintained, and comfortable. This place is truly a rare gem.

The villa itself is absolutely stunning — an unbeatable location just 5 minutes from town, directly opposite the lake. The facilities were excellent, with spacious rooms, multiple bathrooms, a laundry annex, a lovely outdoor dining area, and a newly added private pool in beautiful gardens. Sadly, our experience was impacted by unannounced entries. While we were informed of a midweek maid visit (which went smoothly), we had three unknown women enter via the garage and walk through the property without notice. Later, a gardener also entered unannounced. With young children, this felt very unsettling and affected our family's sense of safety. We also received complaints after a quiet afternoon with close family, which made us feel watched. This villa has huge potential and is truly special, but future guests — especially families — should be aware. Better communication and clear privacy boundaries would make this a 5-star stay.

I have never written a bad airbnb review before but this experience was weird. Both the owner and the property manager were present at check-in and basically took it upon themselves to educate us on how to behave in a villa. This included lessons about how to put a glass down on a table. The bedroom downstairs has a curtain and no door. The house is partially furnished, not decorated and all of the furniture is slip covered. The lights were not plugged in and many didn't have lightbulbs. The house is covered in signs about what we were not to touch. The property manager was demanding about us letting a refrigerator repair person in at 9:30am. When we went to check out, we were informed there was a compulsory in person exam of the house before we could leave. The whole experience was extremely unwelcoming, and we felt as if the owner did not want us in her home. The villa is beautiful and the location is terrific, but it is unpleasant to be made to feel like an unwanted guest

We had a very good stay. The house and grounds are beautiful. It was very well equipped and the location was excellent- close walk to the town, restaurants, and ferries. It was a little difficult to find by car, however once we arrived we were met and given a very good tour of the house. A bit of a word of caution- the house has many antiques with signs noted ‘do not touch’. It’s a bit like staying in a museum. Some of the modern amenities in the kitchen were delicate with one kitchen cupboard cover and the sliding doors not working- we were told they break easily and are very expensive. After checkout and a joint inspection that we agreed everything was fine- we received an email a few hours later about a stain on the marble counter requesting damages. We felt strongly that we did not cause any damage- we did not even cook. Eventually this situation was resolved. So overall a great stay but be careful regarding damages.

We were met by Emma, from Happy Rentals, to checkin to the villa and she was fantastically lovely & helpful! She kept in touch with us throughout our stay and when we had one minor issue (with a door we couldn't open) Emma was very responsive and got it sorted within an hour :-) Great service! The villa's location is absolutely amazing! You are right on the lake - our 3 x teenagers went swimming in the lake every day - and 3 minutes walk from the hustle & bustle of Malcesine. The garden around the villa is very spacious and lots of chairs/cushions for relaxing. We hired bikes from Bike Xtreme (by the cable car station) and they were great - the owner actually hired my husband his own bike as there no XL left. We didn't book in advance but would suggest it's a good idea.

Location was excellent. Outdoor grounds were wonderful. Disappointed that amenities shown on site were off limits to use, such as piano, dressers and bathtub (out of service since April as noted in other reviews.). All couches and chairs had covers and other furniture had dust sheet coverings that we were not allowed to remove. The atmosphere was like being in a museum. Notes left telling us to not wear shoes in the villa. Kitchen not suitable for meal preparation due to owner’s concerns about damaging countertops and table, also no proper kitchen cooking ventilation. DO NOT TOUCH signs throughout the villa were very off-putting as we were here on vacation to have a relaxing time. Emma and Matteo, from Happy Rentals, were both very helpful and easy to work with. The lake and mountain views from the villa are stunning. Parking in the villa’s garage was very convenient and secure.
