Lugano is around 15 to 20 minutes by car, or about 30 minutes by bus, with its Piazza della Riforma, lakeside walks, museums and larger supermarkets. Monte San Giorgio, a UNESCO fossil site with hiking trails, is roughly a 25-minute drive, and the lakeside village of Gandria is reachable in about 20 minutes by car, or by one of the seasonal Lake Lugano cruise boats that call at Morcote.
