Located on the ground floor of a renovated barn, with its own private entrance, this one-bedroom apartment is a lovely family base on a sunny hilltop estate of eight apartments, surrounded by olive groves and rows of vines, just minutes from a neighbouring winery. Glazed doors open from the living area onto the private terrace, paved in brick beside the barn’s latticed wall, where a parasol shades the table and chairs for al fresco meals and two sun loungers face the lawn. Inside, terracotta floors run through the open-plan living area, with a double sofa bed, a flat-screen satellite TV and a dining table beneath a pendant lamp. The kitchenette has a gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, drip coffee maker, moka pot and kettle. Beyond the terrace, the shared fenced garden holds the fenced pool with its sunbathing area, a children’s playground, table tennis, table football and a barbecue area with outdoor dining. Free Wi-Fi keeps you connected, a shared washing machine is available for a fee, and a private parking space adds to the comfort and convenience of staying at this home away from home. Sleeping Bedroom 1: A traditional double bed is paired with a wardrobe, and a small writing table sits by the window. Extra: The living room has a double sofa bed. The pool is open from 1 May to 30 September. Heating is charged at €25 per day from 15 October to 15 April, payable at the time of booking. Final cleaning is €90 per stay, payable at the time of booking. A tourist tax of €1 per person per night applies for up to 6 consecutive nights, with children under 14 exempt. A security deposit of €250 is held by credit card, from which any damage or additional cleaning costs may be deducted; for groups with members under 21, the deposit is €400. Location The property is located in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, in the province of Florence, between Castelfiorentino and Certaldo, the birthplace of Boccaccio. This central location makes it easy to reach many of Tuscany’s cultural highlights, including Siena (50 minutes by car), Florence (1 hour by car), Pisa (50 minutes by car) and Lucca (1 hour by car). The beautiful Tuscan coast is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car, with the famous beaches of Versilia. Nearby, guests can visit Certaldo, with its funicular railway and breathtaking views (10 minutes by car), Castelfiorentino (10 minutes by car), San Gimignano (25 minutes by car) and Volterra (45 minutes by car). The Castello di Oliveto is 2 minutes away by car or 10 minutes on foot. There are two supermarkets within a 10-minute drive. The nearest international airports, Florence and Pisa, are about 50 minutes by car.
