Located on the ground floor of a renovated barn, with its own independent entrance, this one-bedroom apartment is an easy-going family base on a hilltop estate of eight apartments, set among olive groves and vines with wide views over the Tuscan hills, just minutes from a neighbouring winery. Glass doors open the living room straight onto the private terrace, where a table and chairs sit beneath a parasol on herringbone brick, screened by a planted trellis and looking out to the lawn. Inside, the same herringbone pattern continues in terracotta underfoot, with a double sofa bed, a flat-screen satellite TV, and a dining table with rush-seat chairs beside a glass-fronted farmhouse dresser. The kitchenette has a gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, American coffee maker, moka pot and kettle. The shared garden takes in the whole hilltop: a fenced lawn, where the fenced pool has its own paved sunbathing area with loungers and parasols. There is a playground for children, table tennis out on the grass and table football for a friendly match, and the shared barbecue area comes with outdoor dining tables for evenings with the whole party. In-house Wi-Fi and private parking are included in the rent, while a shared washing machine can be used for a fee. Sleeping Bedroom 1: A traditional wrought-iron double bed stands between two bedside tables with lamps, with a timber wardrobe for storage. Extra: The living room has a double sofa bed. Bathroom Bathroom 1: The bathroom has a shower cubicle, a washbasin set in a timber vanity, a bidet and a WC. The pool is open from 1 May to 30 September. Heating is charged at €25 per day from 15 October to 15 April, payable at the time of booking. Final cleaning is €90 per stay, payable at the time of booking. The tourist tax is payable at the time of booking. A security deposit of €250 is held by credit card, from which any damage or additional cleaning costs may be deducted; for groups with members under 21, the deposit is €400. Location The property is located in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, in the province of Florence, between Castelfiorentino and Certaldo, the birthplace of Boccaccio. This central location makes it easy to reach many of Tuscany’s cultural highlights, including Siena (50 minutes by car), Florence (1 hour by car), Pisa (50 minutes by car) and Lucca (1 hour by car). The beautiful Tuscan coast is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car, with the famous beaches of Versilia. Nearby, guests can visit Certaldo, with its funicular railway and breathtaking views (10 minutes by car), Castelfiorentino (10 minutes by car), San Gimignano (25 minutes by car) and Volterra (45 minutes by car). The Castello di Oliveto winery is 2 minutes away by car or 10 minutes on foot. There are two supermarkets within a 10-minute drive. The nearest international airports, Florence and Pisa, are about 50 minutes by car.
