A charming rural retreat for 3 people, this pretty semi-detached cottage is one of 7 apartments on an idyllic agriturismo in the heart of Tuscany. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, but within easy reach of Florence, Pisa and Siena, it offers the best of all worlds. The ground-floor apartment has an open-plan living room, furnished in a charming rustic style. There is a sofa, an armchair, a flat-screen TV, a dining table and chairs. The corner kitchen is equipped with a cooker hob, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine and fridge/freezer. Outside on the private terrace, guests can relax and enjoy meals al fresco, thanks to the dining table, chairs and umbrella, There is also a sun lounger. The shared gardens and swimming pool are beautifully maintained. The fenced pool has sunloungers for guests to use after a refreshing swim. The agriturismo also offers a shared BBQ, wood-burning oven, outdoor kitchen and dining area. There is a shared, shaded sitting area, which includes some gym equipment, so guests can work out whilst admiring the view. Sleeping Bedroom: This airy bedroom includes a traditional, wrought iron double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe, plus an en suite bathroom. A glass door leads out directly to the terrace. Extra: The sofa in the sitting room converts into a single bed. Bathroom The spacious, tiled bathroom, has a shower, basin, bidet and WC. Location The 50-hectare estate nestles amongst hills covered with vineyards and olive groves. Despite its peaceful rural setting, the agriturismo is less than 10 minutes from the centre of Castelfiorentino, where guests can find shops, a supermarket and a Saturday market for the best local produce, as well as clothing and homewares. Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, is just 1 hour away and offers some of the finest galleries, museums and architecture in the world. As do the cities of Siena (1 hour) and Pisa, with its Leaning Tower (1 hour). Other towns worth visiting are San Gimignano (35 minutes), famous for its many towers, and, for “Twilight” fans, Volterra (45 minutes), a fascinating town with Etruscan roots. There are wonderful hiking and cycling routes nearby which will immerse you in the woods and glorious Tuscan countryside. The closest airports are Florence, 40 minutes drive, or Pisa, which is 1 hour away.

Wat een prachtige locatie. We zaten in appartement Gallonero met zowel aan de voorkant en achterkant een terras. Dus altijd wel ergens schaduw. En aan de voorkant prachtig uitzicht. Naast appartement een grote algemene overdekte zitplaats met goede lounch stoelen en prachtig uitzicht. Bedden waren prima, airco werkte erg goed. Een heerlijk zwembad. Zeer goede uitvalsbasis om Siena, Volterra, Florence, San Gimignano en Certaldo te bezoeken. We zouden er zo weer naar toe gaan als we weer eens naar Italie gaan.

a) The happy rentals manager and the property owners were very responsive to our requests and kind. b) Tucked away in a nice and quiet location. Beautiful property surrounded by olive trees. Very Tuscan in nature. Receives good amount of light and air. c) On the front side, you get a sneak peek of the typical rolling hills of Tuscany with Cypress tress perched up here and there and the vineyard on the property. d) On the back side you get a splendid view if the Olive tress on the property on an inclination. The owner told us that there are ~2000 trees. e) Nice separate/dedicated parking space for cars, surrounded by tall cypresses. d) Pretty accessible to different parts of Tuscany: - Pisa: ~50 mins - Florence: ~35-40 mins - Also nice drive along Val D'Orca and to Siena (both could be covered in a day) - Lucca: ~1 hour - Vinci town: ~1 hour f) There is a Lidl in Castelfiorentino which is about 8Kms away from the property. g) The washbasin corridor and bathroom are senior friendly (although we did not need them at this stage in life). h) There is a horse stable + training camp at the bottom / base. Property offers a pretty challenging terrain for those who're up for it and don't want to miss out on their body workouts while holidaying.
