Set in secluded private gardens, just a few minutes drive from the beautiful Adriatic coast, this attractive villa makes a wonderful holiday base for family or friends. The contemporary villa sleeps 8 people and has its own private pool. It is a little piece of heaven in the heel of Italy. The stone-clad villa has a deep veranda where guests can relax, thanks to cane armchairs and a sofa. There is also an outside dining table for delicious meals al fresco. The interiors are equally stunning, with stone vaulted ceilings and a combination of contemporary features with antique furniture. The large hallway, which has a sofa, is the heart of the house, with the other rooms leading off it. The sitting/dining room has a stone fireplace, sofa and dining table. The spacious kitchen, with colourful majolica tiling, is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and coffee machine. The outdoor space has been created with as much care and attention as the interiors. On the terrace around the swimming pool, there are sun loungers, deckchairs and umbrellas so guests can relax after a refreshing swim. The garden includes extensive lawns and olive trees. Sleeping Bedroom 1: The master bedroom has an attractive wrought-iron double bed, a wardrobe and an en suite bathroom. Bedroom 2: The second bedroom has a double bed and a wardrobe. There are also some lovely beaches nearby including Porto Miggiano Beach and Archi Marine. The charming town of Castro has an ancient historic centre and stunning granite coastline which you can explore by boat. Further north, on the Otranto coast, there are fine sandy beaches, just 10 to 15 minutes drive from the villa. Not to be missed is the city of Lecce (35 minutes drive), known as the “Florence of the South” and blessed with wonderful Baroque architecture as well as Roman ruins. It is a jewel of a city and well worth a visit. Not only for its long history but also for its excellent food and good shopping. For a wide range of local produce, the twice-weekly market in Lecce is a treasure trove of the finest regional produce from fish, vegetables and fruit to olive oil and cheese. The closest airport is at Brindisi - just over an hour away by car.
