Step into this lake-view farmhouse reatreat for 10 with a private patio and free parking on Lake Como. Past a checkerboard-tiled entrance and stone archways, the library holds floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and sofas piled with cosy cushions, looking straight out over the water, an easy spot to read through an afternoon. The dining room seats the group at a dark wood table surrounded by red upholstered chairs, opening onto a balcony over the lake, and the kitchen-diner is fully equipped, an oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and cooker hob among them, for cooking as a group. One bedroom carries the same period character through an ornate carved wood bed frame, and two more open onto their own private balconies over the lake. Wood-beamed ceilings and stone walls run throughout, keeping the whole house cool and breezy even in summer, and a private patio outside gives the group another spot to unwind above the water. Sleeping Bedroom 1: A double bed plus a single bed with a pull-out trundle, sleeping up to 4, with its own ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 2: A double bed with a wardrobe, a private balcony over the lake, and its own ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 3: A double bed with a wardrobe and a private balcony over the lake. Location The villa sits in the hillside hamlet of Santa Maria, above the village of Rezzonico on Lake Como's western shore, a quiet, secluded setting away from the busier towns on the lake. Wiki Beach, a gastro pub, and Alimentari Tori, a local grocery store, are both a 5-minute drive, alongside Spiaggia Santa Maria Rezzonico and a handful of other beaches and trattorias in the same 5 minutes. The nearest bus stop is a 10-minute drive. Como town and San Siro are both reachable by car for shopping, restaurants and the lake's ferry services. A couple of hiking trails, Montuglio and Monti di Gallio, are about a 15-minute drive, for anyone wanting a day on foot above the lake. Milan's airports are roughly 1.5 hours away by car.
