Koper’s medieval old town and Titov Trg (Titov Square), with its distinctive Venetian architecture, are fascinating to explore. The narrow streets of the historic centre are home to excellent restaurants and cafés. The coast offers several beautiful beaches, including Žusterna Beach (3-minute drive). The picturesque seaside town of Izola is 10 minutes away, with its historic centre, lively marina and opportunities to hire kayaks and paddleboards. The surrounding Slovenian Istrian countryside is ideal for road cycling, mountain biking and walking, with routes through vineyards, olive groves, traditional villages and unspoiled landscapes. Further inland, the UNESCO-listed Škocjan Caves are approximately 40 minutes away, offering spectacular caves, underground rivers, stalagmites and stalactites. For self-catering, Koper’s farmers’ market is a great place to find fresh local produce. The closest airport is Trieste Airport, approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes away. Ljubljana Airport is around 2 hours away.
