We loved our stay in Varenna! The host gave excellent directions on how to access the apartment. We brought a car and were able to park in the nearby public parking lot. Walking to the place involved a short steep downhill on cobblestones and several flights of stairs to the apartment, so that is good to know if you have physical limitations. But, we loved it and would go back!

Ideal location in Varenna. Detailed instructions to the property with pictures was provided and very useful. Like many rental units, it is minimal supplied with kitchen, bath and paper products. Just be prepared to supply your own. We enjoyed our stay very much.

This is a very well located unit. It is extremely convenient to everything we wanted to see and do in Varenna. There is a lot of space with the two bedrooms upstairs. We arrived late at night and had a very difficult time getting the key box open - eventually we were able to wrench it open but it was a stressful experience late at night with our exhausted kids and a pile of luggage outside the gate. The management company checked in with us the next morning and I reported this issue - they asked me to pass the info to the “local” team. They appear to have fixed the box because we had no trouble returning the key. The staff were very polite and responded to daytime communications. There was a bottle of wine when we arrived - that was appreciated. Overall I would recommend this property - clean, well located, and a view of the lake. Varenna was a great Como destination.

Very nice duplex with views to the lake. It is well equipped although some appliances could be more updated. The stair is a little bit too steep for the children. The furniture is nice and comfortable. There is plenty of room!

Location very central. Easy ramped hill close enough to all. Driver can pull in very close to gate. Very secure. But do be ready to climb stairs up two floors to unit door. With luggage. Inside the bedrooms and bath are up on top level w spiral stair access. Be ready to haul up luggage. Roomy. Comfortable. Best kitchen we experienced. Fully appointed w large fridge and big freezer. Ask mgmt to be sure all four diff keys are labeled. They were not for us and we did have some confusion. Varenna is gorgeous!!!

My stay at Lake Como Holiday was magical! From the moment my sister and I arrived, communication with Diego was very easy. There was a basket for us that included a bottle of wine. The apartment is beautiful, spacious and the views from all the rooms are spectacular! It is 3 minute walk to shops, restaurants and the town square. Just lovely!

This apartment was in such a fabulous location! The space was clean, modern, and cute. The balcony was beautiful and one of the rooms views was incredible!! Check in was incredibly easy and the instructions that were sent where clear and well written. Overall such a nice stay and great location.

Such a spotless place! I have stayed at quite a few Airbnb in EU and I have never come across such a clean and well maintained apartment. Great view of the lake too. Better than what I imagined. But just be warned to not carry too many or heavy luggages there are about 5 flights of stairs you will have to conquer. Lacking of dishwashing liquid and trash bags other than that our stay was great.

We had a wonderful stay here and truly enjoyed this area of Varenna and Lake Como. The location is a bit tricky to find, and there are plenty of inclines and stairs to climb, so be prepared, but it is so worth it. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The views are stunning. We were able to walk from and to the Varenna Esino train station which connects to Milan and other cities, as well as the ferry station to visit other popular Lake Como destinations like Bellagio, which are nice to visit, while Varenna is preferable to stay in. There are also several shops, restaurants, and gelaterias nearby, which we very much enjoyed during our stay, as well. We definitely recommend staying here and we look forward to coming back ourselves.

Location was perfect! Easily walkable to restaurants and the ferry. I felt as if I was in the center of the town. Little grocery stops nearby and great little shops. The house was clean and had a private gate. You do hear your neighbors a bit but everyone seemed to respect each others space.

Beautiful location! Enjoyed sitting in the balcony every morning and evening enjoying the lake view. Very conveniently located. Initially had a hard time finding the building but if you follow the car directions it’s not very difficult to find.

The three of us thoroughly enjoyed the apartment in Varenna. It is central to everything and very convenient for exploring the lake by ferry. The restaurants and shops are just steps away from the building. We had two maintenance items that were addressed immediately. Be prepared for steps, as the listing says. We loved the place and will rent again if we travel to Varenna again.

Gorgeous place with an IG worthy view of Lake Como that will have you staring at the view for hours. Comfortable beds. Location is steps away from charming cafes right on the lake shore. One tiny issue is that I couldn't get in touch with the local team to figure out where the recycle/trash bins were located. But apart from that, I highly recommend!!!

Beautiful, immaculate apartment! Very nice to receive a welcome box with wine and other necessities. Comfy beds and linens! Quite a few steps to get up to the apartment. In spite of the pictures sent to us, we found it a little difficult to locate because the directions were for car drivers and we were coming from the train station. But all in all, a great place to stay!

We had stayed in Varenna before and were very pleased with the location and apartment. Your pictures on VRBO do not really show what nice views you get from both sides of the apartment though…access to the keybox and apartment was easy…your team was always responsive to my emails…we enjoyed the dinner at Albergo Milano, as always…the owner always makes you feel like a welcome guest…the things which I think need some attention: soap/shampoo…it is hard to travel with liquids, so would be great if provided…the outdoor common deck had broken furniture and what-not…could use a sturdy table and chairs…great view from there..the metal interior stairway in the apartment makes loud noise as you use it…not sure it can be fixed, but it does wake people up when using…otherwise, the apartment was clean and spacious…we would recommend it to our friends and would rent it again. thanks

Location was very central with a beautiful view. Property itself was excellent inside and very spacious. Apt G had to floors with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs. Small balcony off the living area with fantastic views of the Lake.

We stayed at a lake Como holiday rental in Varenna for two weeks and had a fantastic time even though it was a cool May. I have to mention that the staff, especially our concierge Elisa, were outstanding in responding to us and answering our questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good rental experience. We stayed at a posting we found on VRBO and it was exactly as stated except the views were much more spectacular than the ones in the listing photos. Varenna is a fun base to use as many ferries can be caught here and of course it has the scenic walkway along the lake extending the length of the town and a multitude of good cafés and restaurants. +2 little grocery stores with all you need to get by with very helpful owners. The train is very handy and we used it multiple times. There is also a taxi service run by Rita and her sister and they could not have been better! If you stay for a long stint like we did it is easy to take the train to Lecco and Colico at the northern and southern extremes of Lake Como. Plus locally you have Menaggio and Bellaggio to visit and we also took the ferry down to Como. If you take the ferry to Menaggio you can then take the one hour bus over the hill to Lugano Switzerland which is a fantastic day trip visit. It was a long trip but we did a day trip to St Moritz Switzerland up through the Alps and talk about a spectacular train ride!!! You take the train north to Toronto and then change trains right next-door on the Bernie’s express up and over. The wonderful employee at the Varenna train station was more than helpful in setting this up. Long day but so worth it.

May 2018 The apartment was as advertised and would be comfortable for four people. There was a comfortable seating area as well as a well equipped kitchen. The view of Lake Como from the balcony was wonderful and made for a nice place for two people to enjoy a glass of wine. It was conveniently located to the promenade area, restaurants, ferry, and center of town. Our suggestions include making the lock box more user friendly, provide washcloths, dishwashing soap, shelves in the bathroom, and a full length mirror. The directions for finding the apartment were not clear because the sign for the post office is missing. We would definitely like to return to Varenna and would definitely consider staying in this apartment upon our return. Wanda, USA

The instructions were clear and it was easy to get to the apartment, but the hair dryer did not work and we tried all the sockets in the house and there was no hand paper, dish sponge or dish detergent in the kitchen. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Lake Como and the view from the balcony was amazing.

Vackert och väldigt centralt boende men när vi påtalade att diskmaskinen inte fungerade blev vi hänvisade att själva ta kontakt med reparatör. Det fanns inget att diska med i köket och endast en toalettrulle utan det var också saker man själv skulle införskaffa. När vi har hyrt tidigare har det varit saker som värden har tillhandahållit. Men som sagt lägenhet är otroligt fin och läget är fantastiskt.

Central location to the town/village and easy access via ferry to other more touristy spots. The apartment was spacious and had good facilities. Mostly quiet at night and everything is within a 10 minute walk. Lovely place to visit without the 1000s of tourists in Belaggio.

The location is great. Right in the heart of town. The unit itself needs a little TLC. The lights in the very steep stairway and landing were burnt out. We had to use flashlights to navigate the steps. This is a safety hazard. We asked them to fix it on the first day. They said they would get to it "tomorrow". That was the answer everyday for our entire stay. It still wasn't fixed by the time we checked out. Various electrical outlets did not work particularly in the bathroom. The provided espresso machine did not have pods for use, which is fine. We could buy our own, but the style of pods are not available anywhere in town... so it was just a paperweight in the kitchen. The internet went our every day. Unusable for 80% of the stay. Wooden patio door was rotting and allowed heavy rain to enter the kitchen. Kitchen needs some very basic supplies, paper towels, dish soap, etc. This place has great potential but is run by a management company that just doesn't care. If I were the owner, I would replace them....

The space and location were excellent. The only major flaw was that our door did not lock from the inside, and when I tried to communicate with the host, they did not seem to take it seriously and for the entirety of our stay did not ever reach back out to try and fix the door or offer some sort of remedy.

The place was okay generally but really struggled with amenities. There were only two rolls of toilet paper for four people and four nights, no paper towels, a broken washing machine and hairdryer, one tide pod that had exploded in the heat on the washing machine, crappy fans, a leaking balcony door with a giant crack in it, and a toilet that always ran. When we reached out for help, we were redirected to the “on site team” who never once answered calls or texts. When we reached out through Airbnb again, they said they’d have them contact us which they never did. Ultimately we just gave up since none of the things were absolutely critical, but I’ve never had such bad communication (though the Airbnb messages were answered quickly, they never led to anything). Overall the place is decent especially for its cost, but it’s not well managed. The view is great and so is the location.

Meine Unterkunft hatte folgende Mängel: 1. defekte Beleuchtung im Badezimmer (wurde erst nach 2 Tage repariert) 2. keine Verdunklung im Schlafzimmer möglich 3. Toilettenspülung läuft durch und muss mehrfach unterschiedlich betätigt werden, dass Wasserlauf stoppt 4. Spülmaschine: Besteckkorb oben macht Probleme, weil fällt raus, wenn man es raus zieht 5. Gas beim Herd war nicht eingeschaltet, Dh Kochen war nicht möglich wie geplant 6. die Küche ist schlecht ausgestattet 7. das Toilettenpapier für 4 Personen und 4 Nächte war bei weitem zu gering. Alles in allem enttäuschend!

Few housekeeping issues were not sorted. No upstairs lights for 4 nights had to use table lamps. This was reported but not fixed. Few electrical items didn't work including a fan.

The good: Wonderful view, more private/quiet- close to but not on top of crowded areas. Walkable to all! Unit as shown. The Bad: When we got inside TV not working at all, bathroom sink stopper stuck closed and sink clogged, and dirty panties left by prior renter. Since it was evening check in, we repeatedly called “24 hr” help line - no one answered. Got AirBnB messaging involved and it was all convoluted. Next day finally spoke to someone nice who offered to send quickly staff to clean and fix (we left for the day bc we tired of waiting for them and felt real uncomfortable them coming in alone). Came back and while TV/sink fixed, dirty panties still on floor. Please do better cleaning and inspection before tenants arrive. Also, I get Como costs $$. But you should have coffee pods for machine like most everyone else does. With an evening arrival, stores closed so you wake up without any coffee or tea. It's very inconvenient/bad way to start the day in an expensive rental.
