A timeless lake view Villa ~ ideal for summer entertaining! Enjoying a splendid lake front location in a serene setting of Laglio, this authentic Italian villa provides budget-friendly sleeping accommodation for up to 12 guests, and is close to Como city! The villa enjoys wonderful proportions and all the rooms boast high ceilings and bright and spacious, with WIFI internet access. A traditional open plan living room enjoys access through French doors, to a sunny lake view terrace and the room is partially divided between living and dining with a centrally positioned open fireplace. The floor is laid with beautiful marble mosaic and the fireplace is a fabulous feature, ensuring a warm and romantic ambience is created to both the sitting area and the formal dining areas. A TV and music player are provided in the sitting room for guests’ entertainment. From the spacious lake view terrace stone steps lead to the landscaped gardens where alfresco dining possibilities exist and for special occasions private chef hire can be arranged! A separate kitchen features all the desired appliances including gas oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, making it ideal for a self-catering holiday. The ground floor futures a double bedroom with a service bathroom. A quirky stylised staircase leads to the upper floors, which provide 5 double bedrooms and 2 single bedrooms. The single beds are attached to a double bedroom creating an open space. Two modern bathrooms are also conveniently provided in the villa, with 2 fully fitted shower rooms, 2 separate WCs and a service bathroom. All bedrooms enjoy beautiful parquet flooring, bright and spacious proportions and some even boast direct lake views and private balconies! The splendid landscaped gardens enjoy a wide variety of trees and shrubs including rhododendrons and sweeping volumes of scented jasmine. A sunny lake view lawn provides a fantastic spot by the lakeside, alfresco dining or simply for sunbathing. Guests will need to park on the street level and walk 30 metres down a steep, stepped cobbled walkway to the entrance of the villa. - Please note because of this, the villa is not suitable for infants, young children or the elderly - A peaceful wide stone pathway leads behind the villa to the delights of Laglio. Laglio is a charming and highly romantic fishing village, with a quaint harbour, ancient churches and stately noble villas and pastel townhouses which all provide a timeless and elegant appeal. A very good restaurant is situated in the town and amenities include a bank, grocery shop and regular bus service. Laglio has also become famous from its celebrity residents which have included George Clooney and Brad Pitt, and this Hollywood celebrity status which contrasts so well with its charming, pretty and ancient lakeshore has only enhanced its allure for visitors on Lake Como. Nearby the fashionable town of Cernobbio features boutique shops, antique shops and galleries as well as a fabulous family-friendly lakefront promenade with cafes, bars and ice cream shops. The world famous Vista D’Este Hotel and Golf Club, the annual events of Villa Erba and the highly acclaimed ‘Gatto Nero’ restaurant also make the town a desirable destination for visitors. Como city is ideally situated just a 15 minutes’ drive from Laglio, providing an abundance of amenities and attractions including supermarkets, cafe-lined piazzas, boutique shopping boulevards, a wide variety of restaurants, the wonderful Duomo, the Volta Museum and the magnificent Villa Olmo. Como city also enjoys a Lido, harbour with boat mooring facilities and a fast and frequent ferry service which services the northern Lake Como resort towns. Two train stations in Como provide fast links to Milan and Malpensa airport and a modern motorway leads to Lugano city and Switzerland. - Please take note that the villa has no heating services for the autumn or winter season. For this reason, we advise guests to stay in late spring or summer. -

Felt like a home away from home, very easy to host a group. Excellent location right on the water, beds and bathrooms were comfortable and clean. It would be a great idea to purchase food etc. before you get there as there is limited restaurants and shops in Laglio itself.

Amazing location with direct lake access (not very easy to get in and out for young or old) and a stunning plot of land with much privacy (again, access down a steep path may not suit all ages). The house is full of private mementos and oozes passt greatness. Charming, even if in need of a little TLC. Communication with the agency works like a charm, Evan on a Saturday when all fuses have blown while operating oven and fridge (one has to be reasonable…). We loved it and would go again, if it wasn’t quite so expensive.

Spent 5 nights here with our party of 9. The place is situated quite ideally - not too far from Como but also far enough way to enjoy the quiet. The house is adequate and probably fine for the price paid. It is a bit tired and dated and lacks A/C but the whole group loved the views, the breezes off the lake and the spacious nature of the place. The only really disappointing aspect of the book was the actual interface with the management company at Lake Como Holiday. Had sent a bunch of emails to them about places to eat, boat rentals, etc. and they pretty much took months to get back to me and by the time they did respond the recommendations were pretty meaningless. It wouldn't stop me from booking this house but I would just not count on any real support from Lake Como Holidays.

Laglio was so great for reaching the central lake activities and golf also. We also had a seaplane trip from Como! The villa had some beautiful lake view rooms and offered some really delightful period features, including wacky token marble flooring! The lakefront gardens were great for alfresco dinnig and daytime relaxation too. We found Laglio very convenient for reaching the golf and Como city attractions by car. The villas of the central lake were also very nearby! HHH were so brilliant at arranging a private boat tour for us and our dinner reservations. Thank you for a truly memorable time!

There were many great features about Villa Laglio even if it wasn't the most modern-style of holiday homes! There were great lake views from most of the rooms and the kids loved the wacky mosaic flooring! The sunny lakefront terrace and garden provided us with a really excellent venue for daytime chilling and alfresco dinners. Laglio was a very picturesque village within easy reach of Cernobbio and Como. I would recommend a car because the bus service isn't all that frequent and it was fun for us just to get in the car and go explore! There were some great restaurants which we loved and Como city was great for shopping, sightseeing and for taking the scenic tram upto Brunate. There were also fast tain links to Milan from the city. Laglio was perfect for our family because we were looking for a tranquil spot to enjoy family time together. The central lake attractions weren't that far away; about 20 minutes drive. Just note that the parking is a few metres from the villa entrance. Thanks for letting us stay, we had a great time!
