It makes an idyllic base from which to explore both Umbria and southern Tuscany. With large arched windows, this apartment is flooded with sunlight. The front door opens onto a spacious open-plan living area. The airy living room has a sofa, open fireplace and dining table. There is a second glass door that leads out to a private terrace and the garden. The separate kitchen is equipped with a cooker hob, oven, fridge and Nespresso coffee machine. Modern stairs lead up to the two bedrooms. The private terrace includes an outside dining area and BBQ for relaxed meals al fresco. The shared gardens have been arranged with as much care as the interiors. By the shared, outdoor pool, guests will find sun-loungers and parasols. Location Poggia Verde is well located for guests to explore Umbria and southern Tuscany. Castiglione del Lago (10 minutes), with its medieval castle that dominates the lakeshore, offers wonderful views over the beautiful Lake Trasimeno. On the water, guests can enjoy many different watersports, including canoeing and swimming. Away from the lake, visitors can cycle or hike along one of the many tracks that crisscross the stunning countryside. The capital of Umbria, Perugia is 45 minutes away. It is well worth a visit, as is the famous town of Assisi (1 hour) birthplace of St Francis and a site of pilgrimage. Over the border in Tuscany, Montepulciano (40 minutes) makes an interesting day trip. Here you can visit many different wine producers and try some of the famous red wines and buy some to enjoy at home. The closest airport is at Perugia (50 minutes drive)
