It has a supermarket at just a 5-minutes drive for a facilitated self-catered stay and restaurants are a 15-minutes drive, close to the beach, for moods for dining out. Augusta is a hugely popular summer holiday destination in Sicily and is known not only for its beaches but also for the rich historical treasures, especially Baroque Arts, that it hides amidst its landscape. For those intrigued with the ancient world, the archaeological site of Megara Hyblaea is half an hour’s drive from here. The 12th-C Hohenstaufen Castle is also worth a visit and is located within convenient driving distance. Finally, the churches of Augusta like Amine Santa del Purgatorio, Church of Cristo Re and more are worth a visit for their art and architecture.
