One of the best known is the Grand Café al Porto, founded in 1803 and still going strong. The city hosts many festivals throughout the year, including the “Luganomusica” festival every summer. MASI (the Museum of Art of Italian Switzerland) (a 20-minute walk) hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions. A day trip on the Lago Lugano is a must. As is a walk along Lugano’s famous waterfront promenade, with breathtaking views over the lake, followed by an aperitivo in Piazza della Riforma (23-minute walk), the heart of the city. For business travellers, the apartment is just an 11-minute walk from the Centro Esposizioni Lugano exhibition centre and an 18-minute walk from the Palazzo Dei Congressi Lugano. The closest international airports are in Italy - Milan Malpensa 1 hour and 5 minutes away by car, or Milan Linate, a 1 hour and 20-minute journey. Arriving by train? Lugano’s railway station is a 25-minute walk from the apartment.
