The village of Torbola is in the heart of the Val Verzasca. This large stone cottage in Torbola sleeps 9 people and makes the perfect base for guests who want to relax in a peaceful environment and also explore one of the most beautiful parts of Ticino. The house has pale stone walls and an attractive balcony running along the front. The ground floor includes a large open-plan living space with original beamed ceilings. At one end of the living room is an open fireplace with two wooden settles on either side. There is another seating area with a sofa, armchairs and a flat-screen TV. In the centre of the room is a large dining table and a wood-burning stove. The kitchen is next to the dining area and is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and coffee machine. The private garden has a terrace and wooden seating directly outside the front door, where guests can sit and enjoy the stunning mountain scenery. There is also a sheltered BBQ and a shaded dining area for meals al fresco. Sleeping Bedroom 1: The cosy master bedroom, on the first floor, is furnished with a double bed, armchair and an attractive antique wardrobe. A door opens directly onto the balcony overlooking the garden. Bedroom 2: The second bedroom, also on the first floor, has two single beds, hanging space for clothes and a door out onto the balcony. Bedroom 3: Tucked under the eaves in the attic this spacious bedroom is divided by a half wall and glass doors. On one side is a double bed, with a fold away single bed, and on the other, there are 2 single beds. Bathrooms Bathroom 1: The tiled bathroom has a shower head, basin, washing machine and WC. Bathroom 2: This bathroom has a shower basin and WC. Extra: There is a separate WC on the top floor. It is 15 minutes upstream from the famous Ponte dei Salti which is a popular swimming spot. The picture-perfect village of Sonogno is 5 minutes in the other direction. This is an excellent starting point for the much-loved BoBosco trail through unspoiled alpine woods. Just 45 minutes away is the beautiful city of Locarno, on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The city is home to many excellent restaurants and hosts a weekly market every Thursday in Piazza Grande. The market combines a farmers market, where you can pick up the best local produce, with stalls selling regional crafts and second-hand clothes, books etc. The closest international airport is in Italy. Milan Malpensa is 2 hours away by car.

Le chalet se trouve dans un petit village près de la rivière , l’endroit est charmant, on peut faire des jolies balades. Le chalet est très spacieux, entièrement rénové, il y a de tout à la cuisine, très propre. On était en famille pour fêter Noël, c’était merveilleux. Il y a un parking public à une trentaine de mètres. C’est important de tout prendre car il n’y a pas de petits magasins. Je conseille vivement cette location.

Great place, comfortable beds and good bedrooms. Plenty of storage, well equipped kitchen. The lights in the kitchen living room could be easily improved and you ended up using a torch or go outside if you needed to see more. The village is still very original, the walks, bike rides are all in a stunning valley and beautiful nature. However, the description of the house in the English description reads like 2 properties which is not the case. We ended up renting an additional different house in a different village to accommodate the family. The booking of the WiFi was complicated and only available when I got a booking confirmation a week before departure, with €5/day expensive and no password was provided, requiring more emails as it was not clear whether the booking team or the local team was responsible. No information about whether we paid the Kurtaxe and what reductions were on offer but we had to provide passport numbers and a list of other personal details. I started to wonder how safe their data system was. The pdf with local information provided with an email could be a bit more helpful, numerous reminders to clean the fireplace if you use it and strip the linen before departure. The booking company relies heavily on emails and it is not a great experience to deal with this on a holiday.

Gemütliches Haus, etwas dunkel in den Räumen durch die dunklen Decken. Man könnte die Beleuchtung etwas stärker auslegen. Der Schornstein vom Grill ist zu kurz und dadurch zieht der Rauch nicht ab. Die Nachbarn waren nicht begeistert. Ansonst waren wir alle sehr zufrieden mit der rustikalen Unterkunft. :-)

Das Haus ist super schön gelegen nahe zwei Flüssen, ideal zum Entspannen und Wandern. Das Haus ist grosszügig und wir hatten gut Platz für drei Familien. Anfangs ging leider die Heizung nicht und wir mussten ein paar Telefonate machen. Danach hats wieder funktioniert. Ich würde das Haus für Familienferien weiterempfehlen.
