C Location The villa is just 5 minutes from the famous coastal spa resort of Santa Cesarea Terme, with its thermal baths and fascinating caves. There are also some lovely beaches nearby including Porto Miggiano Beach and Archi Marine. The charming town of Castro has an ancient historic centre and stunning granite coastline which you can explore by boat. Further north, on the Otranto coast, there are fine sandy beaches, just 10 to 15 minutes drive from the villa. Not to be missed is the city of Lecce (35 minutes drive), known as the “Florence of the South” and blessed with wonderful Baroque architecture as well as Roman ruins. It is a jewel of a city and well worth a visit. Not only for its long history but also for its excellent food and good shopping. For a wide range of local produce, the twice-weekly market in Lecce is a treasure trove of the finest regional produce from fish, vegetables and fruit to olive oil and cheese. The closest airport is at Brindisi - just over an hour away by car.
