Het kristalheldere water van het Bohinj-meer ligt op 10 minuten lopen en leent zich in alle seizoenen voor wateractiviteiten. In de warmere maanden kunt u genieten van een boottocht, zwemmen, kajakken of kanoën, vissen en snorkelen, of gewoon een ontspannende wandeling langs de oevers maken. In de winter kunt u op het meer soms schaatsen. Wandelen en buitenactiviteiten zijn ook populair; de Savica-waterval (7 minuten rijden / 1 uur lopen) is te bereiken via een schilderachtige wandeling door het weelderige bos, en de nabijgelegen toppen van de Vogel en de Triglav bieden een fantastisch panoramisch uitzicht op de Julische Alpen. Tijdens de wintermaanden verandert Ukanc in een paradijs voor wintersportliefhebbers. Het nabijgelegen skigebied Vogel (op 13 minuten lopen) biedt uitstekende mogelijkheden om te skiën en snowboarden. Ook in het dorp en de omgeving zijn culturele belevenissen te vinden. Je kunt de lokale tradities ontdekken en proeven van de traditionele Sloveense keuken in de schilderachtige lokale restaurants, of een bezoek brengen aan de kerk van Sint-Johannes de Doper. De kerk ligt op een klein eilandje midden in het meer en is bereikbaar met traditionele houten boten, zogenaamde „pletna”. De dichtstbijzijnde luchthaven bij de accommodatie is de luchthaven Brnik (LJU), op een uur rijden.

Thank you so much for a truly wonderful stay! Our family absolutely loved our time at your chalet in Ukanc. The property is beautifully appointed and thoughtfully designed; we really appreciated the mix of cozy alpine charm (the wood paneling is beautiful) with modern comforts. Having three bathrooms was a huge plus for our group! The location is simply incredible. Being nestled right in the National Park, just minutes from the lake and the trails, allowed us to completely reset and disconnect from the hustle and bustle. We couldn't have asked for a better base to explore Lake Bohinj and the mountains. We hope to return someday!
