On the ground floor guests will find a spacious living room with a large L-shaped sofa and a flat-screen HD digital TV with Sky. There is also a separate eat-in kitchen furnished with; a dining table, a cooker hob, an oven, a dishwasher and a fridge freezer. Beneath the kitchen, there is a wine cellar where guests can help themselves, and at the end of the holiday pay the housekeeper for what they’ve taken. The house is set in a charming garden where guests can refresh themselves in the private pool, relax with a book under the vines or simply daydream to the sound of bird song with a glass of local wine. The surrounding landscapes are reminiscent of Tuscany and a paradise for outside activities such as walking between vineyards and orchards or cycling through picturesque villages, wineries and farms to taste the local delicacies. The Adriatic Sea and its beautiful beaches are a 45-minute drive away and there are three beautiful golf courses nearby; The Golf & Country Club Castello Di Spessa, (a 19-minute drive), Mabulton Villa Golf (a 45-minute drive) and Golf Club Grado (a 50-minute drive). There is also excellent fishing and various water sports on the Soča River (a 10-minute drive). The Postojna Caves, Škocjan Caves (protected by UNESCO) and the oldest Lipizzaner stud farm in Europe are all approximately a one-hour drive away. The closest international airport is Aeroporto di Trieste - Friuli Venezia Giulia, (TSF) in Italy, approximately a 40-minute drive away.

Heerlijk verblijf gehad op schitterende lokatie. Het zwembad en de tuin was bij meer dan 30 graden de grootste attractie. Maar ook in de nabije buurt veel leuks te zien of te doen. Wijn proeven bij Patrick, eten onder de uitkijktoren en wandelen naar Smartno….

It was spacious and the pool and terrace area were lovely. The view was amazing, perfect for lounging by the pool. There were plenty of pots and pans to cook for a large group and the bbq worked really well. The beds were comfortable. Also management was great, if we ever had a question Mitja answered promptly and any issues were immediately solved.

This property is located in beautiful Slovenian wine country. The house is just as pictured and very comfortable for a large family. This property is separated into three different large and functional spaces, perfect for groups. The scenery is unreal and the home is well designed and kept. We enjoyed day trips to Italy and to vineyards, the Šmartno downtown is also very cute and very close. The sauna was also a fabulous treat. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway outside of the city!

We were 2 families and 2 dogs. The house was very spacious, gave all of us privacy and gathered all in the garden next to the pool for really late night talking and playing. All the beds are very comfortable and each room has a bathroom. In the kitchen you have everything you can ask for to cook food, plus the bbq in the garden which we didn’t use. There is a plenty of sun at the pool area until 4pm. Sandra was very helpful and responded in minutes, her husband saved us too from dead battery in the car. Great hosts. The only thing is you need to be prepared for is to do big shopping as the closest store is 15 min drive. Same with the closest restaurant- 10 min. Not a walking distance. A lot of wine testing around too.

The outside of the property is mindblowingly beautiful. The best part of the house by far. The BBQ is great. The kids really loved the pool which was clean and in good order. A big negative is the fact that it's 3 flats not a complete house. They didn't make this clear in the rental description. I wasn't comfortable having the kids (ages 7 and 9) in a separate flat by themselves. Although I respect the fact that this would suit some older families this should be made clear in the description. The inside is a bit tired, but clean. Kitchen cupboards broken etc. Not all light switches work. Host is exceptional. Thanks Brenda for being SO sweet.
