The Villa delle Meraviglie (the Villa of Wonders), truly lives up to its name! It is a hidden gem in the heart of paradise. The villa is a combination of stylish modern architecture with a traditional trullo set in beautiful private gardens. Sleeping up to 10 people, the villa makes the perfect holiday destination. Each room is unique, decorated with fine furniture and elegant details. The beautiful, pale stone kitchen/diner in the trullo is well equipped with an induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and coffee machine. In spite of the glorious interiors, guests will spend a lot of time outside in the stunning gardens. These have been created with as much love and attention as inside the villa. The villa is surrounded by centuries-old trees with a soft lawn. Guests will enjoy the large swimming pool, with a hydromassage feature and sloping access for a beachy feel. There are sun loungers and chairs where guests can relax after a refreshing dip. There are several different areas outside for people to enjoy the peace of their surroundings. There is also an outside dining area and BBQ. Sleeping Bedroom 1: This delightful bedroom is in a Trullo with stone walls and stunning contemporary lighting. Furnished with a double bed, flat-screen TV and a wardrobe it also has an en suite bathroom. The 4 other bedrooms are more modern but no less stylish and luxurious. Two are on the ground floor and have baths in the bedroom itself. The other two are upstairs and have balconies. All rooms are furnished with double beds, wardrobes and flat-screen TV’s. All of them have en suite bathrooms. Bathrooms Bathroom 1: En suite to the Trullo bedroom this bathroom is unique. With stone walls and a free-standing shower, basin, bidet and WC, it also has a private, heated mini-pool where you can truly relax. The other 4 bathrooms are equipped with showers, basins, bidets and WC’s. The popular port of Otranto (20 minutes) has been inhabited for millennia. It has some lovely beaches. The town centre offers a taste of “La dolce vita” with a range of restaurants, cafés and ice cream parlours. The city of Lecce (25 minutes) is famous for its wonderful Baroque architecture as well as its Roman ruins. It is a jewel of a city and well worth a visit. Not only for its long history but also for its excellent food and good shopping. The main market takes place every Monday and Friday morning and here you can pick up the very best local produce to cook at home. Golfers will enjoy the two courses near the town of Acaya (30 minutes) or for more exercise and a hike through the unspoiled Mediterranean countryside, there is the WWF nature reserve of Le Cesine (25 minutes). The closest airport is at Brindisi - just 1 hour away by car.

Lovely home with a very responsive owner. Thank you again Antonio! The home is very centrally located for visiting all of Puglia south of Lecce. It was a real oasis that was wonderful to return to after exploring the towns in this lovely corner of Italy. The house (two houses really) were very clean and well appointed. The pool is a real plus and long enough to swim laps. We hope to return!

De villa overtrof alle verwachtingen. Prachtig zwembad, prachtige kamers met airco. Mooie binnenplaats met twee keukens en prachtige badkamers. Ook prachtige sfeervolle verlichting. Geweldige buurman (Antonio) die ons met alles hielp en lekkere dingen bracht (Abrikozen olijven eigen gemaakt gebak super lief!) en ons de omgeving liet zien 💯. Dit is precies wat je wil met ons gezin en ligging is mooi centraal om Lecce Otranto Gallipoli en Castro te bezoeken.

Honestly one of the best places I have stayed. Nine of us spent over a week there and everyone loved it. Literally not a bad word to say about the place. The villa, pool etc were all as/better than described, especially the pool. We would definitely visit again. Pillows, air con, kitchen, outdoor seating, views etc were all great. The ‘neighbours’ were lovely, don’t speak much English but greeted us on arrival and made sure everything was all ok the whole time. Antonio is a true gentleman, thanks again! Couple tips - local town Martano has a lovely ‘caffe Stella’ with great cakes etc. Torre Sant’Andrea is rocky but amazing swimming under the arch etc. La Cala dell’Acquaviva is small but beautiful, swimming out between the cliff faces. I could go on but in summary, if you want a peaceful, well equipped, beautiful place to stay, away from the bigger more touristy towns but within driving distance of everything, book it up!
