Die Wohnung im Erdgeschoss befindet sich in einem Gebäude namens Dimora dell\'Antico Porto. Es liegt direkt am Ufer des Lago Maggiore auf der ältesten Piazza der Stadt Arona, neben dem Hafen aus dem 14. Jahrhundert, der früher viel belebter war als heute. Die charmante kleine Kirche gegenüber der Residenz wurde 1592 erbaut. Bögen aus dem 16. Jahrhundert und originale schmiedeeiserne Balkone mit dem Wappen der Familie Borromeo tragen zum Charme des alten Hauses bei. Das Innere der Wohnung ist stilvoll eingerichtet und bietet freiliegendes Mauerwerk, originale Steinmetzarbeiten und einen kühlen Terrakotta-Fliesenboden. Der gemütliche, offene Wohnbereich ist mit einem Schlafsofa, einem digitalen HD-Flachbildfernseher und einem Esstisch mit Stühlen ausgestattet. In diesem Raum befindet sich auch die Küche, die mit einem Herd, einer Mikrowelle, einer Kaffeemaschine und einem Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach ausgestattet ist und auf die Terrasse führt. Schlafen Das Schlafzimmer bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf den See und ist mit einem Doppelbett und einem Kleiderschrank ausgestattet. An der Piazza Popolo gelegen, ist die Wohnung nur einen Katzensprung von wunderbaren Bistros, Bars und Restaurants entfernt, wo Sie kulinarische Einflüsse aus Frankreich, der Schweiz und Italien genießen können. Von der Piazza del Popolo führt ein Weg am Hang entlang zum Sacro Monte di San Carlo (25 Minuten zu Fuß) und zum Koloss von San Carlo Borromeo, einer massiven Bronzestatue des Heiligen Karl Borromäus. Eingebettet zwischen Gärten und Kapellen mit Blick auf den See war diese Statue einst mit über 23 Metern die höchste der Welt. Arona ist auch ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um andere bezaubernde Städte und Sehenswürdigkeiten rund um den Lago Maggiore zu erkunden, darunter Stresa (25 Autominuten entfernt), Verbania (40 Autominuten entfernt) und der Botanische Garten Villa Taranto (42 Autominuten entfernt). In den nahegelegenen Hügeln und Wäldern können Sie auch wandern und Mountainbike fahren. Der nächstgelegene internationale Flughafen ist Mailand Malpensa (MXP), etwa 40 Autominuten von der Unterkunft entfernt.

The location of the apartment is perfect. Although it is right in the heart of everything, on the edge of Piazza Popolo, occasional noise was not disturbing, as the bedroom faces the lake. From time to time we could hear a bit of partying from other apartments, but it did not bother us. If complete peace and quiet is a priority, it’s worth choosing accommodation outside the city center. 🙂 We stayed in the apartment around the turn of December and January, when there were nighttime frosts. The apartment was perfectly warm thanks to several radiators and good insulation. There also appeared to be two air-source heat pumps, so I believe the apartment would be comfortable even on hot summer days. The living room–kitchen area worked excellently. The sofa was very comfortable for daytime naps and could easily fit two people. The exterior door opening onto the living room was cleverly designed: it also functioned as a window when the outer wooden doors were left open. It was lovely to watch the constant flow of people on the square from there. The kitchen was well equipped; only a dishwasher was missing. This was not a major issue, as we ate out frequently. The bathroom was pleasant and everything worked well. A washing machine might have been useful, as we stayed for a week. The bedroom had a beautiful view of the lake. I did have to remove the curtains, as they blocked the view and could not be adjusted. This is something the host might consider solving differently. The double bed was high quality and very comfortable to sleep in. The apartment also has a small terrace facing the square. We didn’t use it much due to the cool weather, but in warmer conditions it would certainly be a lovely place to sit. The grocery store was about a 10-minute walk away, while the main shopping street, the lakeside promenade, and dozens of restaurants were even closer. Many thanks to the host — we had a wonderful stay!

Waking up with the lake view is the best thing. This place is exactly central of Arona and you can find restaurants around the hotel easily and the night time is really quiet to have a good sleep with the sound of the lake. There’s everything you need for your stay in this hotel. Come here to drink coffee and read a book with the lake view. Highly recommend :) And we will be back soon!
