L'appartement du rez-de-chaussée se trouve dans un immeuble appelé Dimora dell'Antico Porto. Il se trouve sur les rives du lac Majeur, sur la plus ancienne place de la ville d'Arona, à côté du port du XIVe siècle, qui était autrefois beaucoup plus animé qu'il ne l'est aujourd'hui. La charmante petite église située en face de la résidence a été construite en 1592. Les arcs du XVIe siècle et les balcons originaux en fer forgé portant les armoiries de la famille Borromeo ajoutent au charme de l'ancienne maison. À l'intérieur, l'appartement est élégamment décoré avec des briques apparentes, des pierres d'origine et un sol en terre cuite. L'agréable espace de vie ouvert est meublé d'un canapé-lit, d'une télévision numérique HD à écran plat, d'une table à manger et de chaises. Cette pièce comprend également la cuisine équipée d'une plaque de cuisson, d'un micro-ondes, d'une cafetière et d'un réfrigérateur-congélateur et donne sur la terrasse. Couchage La chambre à coucher jouit d'une vue incroyable sur le lac et est meublée d'un lit double et d'une armoire. Supplémentaire : Il y a un canapé-lit confortable dans le salon. Emplacement Située sur la rive ouest du lac Majeur, la ville pittoresque d'Arona se trouve juste en face des îles Borromées. Les visiteurs peuvent prendre le ferry (15 minutes de marche) et visiter les petites îles d'Isola Bella et le Palazzo Borromeo, l'imposant palais du XVIIe siècle et ses célèbres jardins. Arona possède une promenade au bord du lac et un centre historique bien préservé avec des rues charmantes et une architecture italienne traditionnelle. Situé sur la Piazza Popolo, l'appartement se trouve à deux pas de merveilleux bistrots, bars et restaurants. Vous pourrez y apprécier les influences culinaires de la France, de la Suisse et de l'Italie. Un chemin à flanc de colline mène de la Piazza del Popolo à la maison du Sacro Monte di San Carlo (25 minutes de marche) et au Colosse de San Carlo Borromeo, une statue de bronze massive de Saint Charles Borromée. Nichée au milieu de jardins et de chapelles surplombant le lac, cette statue était autrefois la plus haute du monde, avec ses 23 mètres de haut. Arona est également un excellent point de départ pour explorer d'autres villes charmantes et attractions autour du lac Majeur, notamment Stresa (à 25 minutes en voiture), Verbania (à 40 minutes en voiture) et les jardins botaniques de Villa Taranto (à 42 minutes en voiture). Les visiteurs peuvent également faire de la randonnée et du VTT dans les collines et les forêts des environs. L'aéroport international le plus proche est Milan Malpensa (MXP), à environ 40 minutes de route de l'établissement.

The location of the apartment is perfect. Although it is right in the heart of everything, on the edge of Piazza Popolo, occasional noise was not disturbing, as the bedroom faces the lake. From time to time we could hear a bit of partying from other apartments, but it did not bother us. If complete peace and quiet is a priority, it’s worth choosing accommodation outside the city center. 🙂 We stayed in the apartment around the turn of December and January, when there were nighttime frosts. The apartment was perfectly warm thanks to several radiators and good insulation. There also appeared to be two air-source heat pumps, so I believe the apartment would be comfortable even on hot summer days. The living room–kitchen area worked excellently. The sofa was very comfortable for daytime naps and could easily fit two people. The exterior door opening onto the living room was cleverly designed: it also functioned as a window when the outer wooden doors were left open. It was lovely to watch the constant flow of people on the square from there. The kitchen was well equipped; only a dishwasher was missing. This was not a major issue, as we ate out frequently. The bathroom was pleasant and everything worked well. A washing machine might have been useful, as we stayed for a week. The bedroom had a beautiful view of the lake. I did have to remove the curtains, as they blocked the view and could not be adjusted. This is something the host might consider solving differently. The double bed was high quality and very comfortable to sleep in. The apartment also has a small terrace facing the square. We didn’t use it much due to the cool weather, but in warmer conditions it would certainly be a lovely place to sit. The grocery store was about a 10-minute walk away, while the main shopping street, the lakeside promenade, and dozens of restaurants were even closer. Many thanks to the host — we had a wonderful stay!

Waking up with the lake view is the best thing. This place is exactly central of Arona and you can find restaurants around the hotel easily and the night time is really quiet to have a good sleep with the sound of the lake. There’s everything you need for your stay in this hotel. Come here to drink coffee and read a book with the lake view. Highly recommend :) And we will be back soon!
